Itinerary
Ski, boots, poles, snowboards and ski wear can be hired in Queenstown from the Reavers Lodge. Prices start at NZ$20 per day.
Transportation between Queenstown and the ski resorts:
New Zealand's ski fields do not offer accommodation. To get to the ski resorts, you must either drive yourself or take a mountain shuttle. Both car rental and the shuttle can be arranged at your accommodation. The shuttle from the Snow Centre in central Queenstown starts at NZ$15 round-trip to the Remarkables.
The resorts:
Coronet Peak
Just a 15-minute drive from Queenstown, Coronet Peak, with its roller-coaster terrain across interconnected bowls, is perfect for an exciting day on the slopes. It has its own snow-making system, a dedicated beginner area and is ideal for all levels of skiing and snowboarding.
The Remarkables
Located 25 minutes from Queenstown, this beautiful, high alpine location has wide open bowls surrounded by rugged peaks. There are back country areas and three terrain parks that offer challenging excitement for skiers and riders who want to hit jumps, rails and other trick features.
Snow Park
Located opposite Cardrona, Snow Park is a purpose-built, world-class terrain park. Renowned for its jumps, rails, boxes and pipes, it’s perfect for anyone with a sense of adventure either on or off the snow.
Treble Cone
This expansive mountain has the longest vertical rise in the region with far-reaching boundaries spread over two large basins. A 70-minute drive from Queenstown, Treble Park is better suited to confident skiers and snowboarders, as there are few beginner or intermediate runs.
