Awesome trip. The flight back was cancelled due to high winds, which was unseen BUT our excellent drive on the day sorted out for us to take the helicopter ride instead. This was a bonus as we landed on a glacier making this great trip even more memorable. Overall a must do and if you can take the flight option - DO!
This involved an early start and a long coach drive, but the stunning views and cruise on Milford Sound made up for this. We had an excellent buffet lunch on board the Pride of Milford. Due to low clouds at Queenstown, we were unable to fly back and returned by coach, but this did not spoil the enjoyment of the day. The coach driver was excellent, stopping at various locations so that we could take photographs.
Weather hindered our flight, so I can't give a full review. However, stagecoach was fairly comfortable with nice windowing. Stops along the way were scenic and brisk. Cruise showed the highlights of the sound.
