Bus was waiting on the quay side for us, very friendly crew, easy to use voucher, entertaining and informative commentary, good value, highly recommend.
My friend and I regularly enjoy Hop-on Hop-Off Tours when we travel around the world. This tour was no exception - helpful commentary, friendly staff, and a doable itinerary.
Excellent trip, it was so easy to use, the driver was very friendly and we saw so many interesting sights, Reykjavik is a wonderful city and being able to get on and off near the cruise ship was an added bonus, thanks again for a memorable day, Rod and Chris, Scunthorpe uk
A very interesting route through the city. We were impressed with the 24-hour ticket - it allowed us to travel on the afternoon of our arrival and then again the following morning. The drivers were extremely courteous.
The wife and I agree that this was a very good way to see the interesting thing that are offered. That way you can pick and choose the ones that catch your interest.
Great way to see the City and to bhe able to stop off wherever and whenever for as long as you need
The bus was comfortable. Earphones provided good hearing of the spiel. Information was informative and well-timed. I felt it gave a good overview of the city and what was available. It was rainy so sometimes visibility was not the best, but not much to be done about that. I recommend doing the whole tour first to get your overview, then riding a second time if you like to take advantage of the 'hop-off' option.
We were very confused about how late and how often the bus was going to run. The signs on the bus shelter were old and out-of-date.
I would appreciate the driver being more communicative.... Telling us what to expect, welcoming us onto the bus, being more helpful in pthe way of information. There is no reason they can't be more talkative and charming. One was texting while driving and that is not ok! The information shared via the headphones was helpful, definitely. I just don't see it all being left up to the recorded messages when there is a human right there in the drivers seat who could talk to us once in a while!
A good way of getting a quick overview of the city and your bearings for further exploration.
Excellent way to get an overview of a nice city. Good value for the price. The only downside is that buses run every hour, so getting off means waiting 1 hr for the next bus when perhaps the full hour is not needed or desired for that particular stop.
Informative commentary with a good route. Drivers were helpful. Would recommend the Hop-on Hop-off tour to anyone who has not been to Reykjavik before.
A good overview of the city, though a bit difficult to find the right bus and the stops. It was a long walk from the hotel and unfortunately stopped running before we got back to our hotel.
Bus a bit old, but the driver an absolute star and his local knowledge in valuable when wanting something to eat
Drivers travelled to fast and picture opportunities were restricted. The windows all fogged up due to weather. Fans in the bus to circulate air could make visibility through fogging windows much more enjoyable.
The Hop-o-Hop off tour was disappointing. The bus was fine, but the stops were just OK. The bad thing is the bus only came around every hour. It was difficult to find enough to do at some of the stops. After one of the stops we just took the local bus back into the downtown area and from there we wee able to walk back to ship.
The tour was OK once you got on. The ticket said from 10am to 6pm. We got off the ship at 9.30 to see the bus leaving the port ... not to return for an hour! As there was only one bus it made it difficult to get on and off with a limited amount of time.
This is an okay tour........not a big city so takes around an hour if you stay on bus. We did later in week so by then we knew most of the city - suggest you do when first arriving. A Lot of the headphone jacks on bus don't work - so you may need to move seats until you find one that works. Not a lot of stops you would want to get off at though (bus station, cruise ship port, mall)....
