Arrive in the outskirts of Hveragerði, a town famous for its hot springs and gorgeous flowers. Follow your guide on a scenic, leisurely hike into the beautiful valley of Reykjadalur. Listen to your guide’s stories about Iceland’s past as you witness the valley’s amazing abundance of geothermal wonders, from small, gurgling melting pots to vibrant, super-heated pools of water - giving evidence that Mt Hengill is still an active volcano located under the surface of the area.
See the hot water rushing down the slopes from the Hellisheiði mountain, creating the ideal place to relax. Take a break from your hike and unwind in the soothing natural hot springs. Then, hike back into the beautiful and natural town of Hveragerði and begin your journey back to Reykjavik.
This tour was amazing. We lucked out with the weather as well. Parts of the path were a little muddy due to a previous days rain and some parts are narrow. The hike is a solid 4 km each direction. It is not strenuous but if one is concerned about their steadiness on their feet it is probably not for you. Hiking boots and not shoes are best. Our guide Woi was lovely and very accommodating.
Excellent. Beautiful country. Spectacular views. Wal the guide was informative and entertaining. The hike was not at all strenuous and the thermal wading in the streams was relaxing and unique.
Excellent tour! The guide was great and the hot springs were perfect!
A stunning hike through the hills with extraordinary views. When at the top we bathed in the hot spring water, which was incredible. The hike was about 5 miles from start to finish and not too strenuous. If you enjoy walking me and views, I highly recommend this tour!
Absolutely breathtaking scenery!!! Stunning views!!! Hike was not strenuous, went along streams and geysers and hot pools, green valleys and volcanic rock - this is a "must do" in Iceland!!! Hiking shoes are best for this one, a lunch, and a bathing suit - yes - those hot pools are the perfect temp!!! Loved it!!!!
Dramatic scenery, a nice walk and a delicious lunch - what's not to like?
