amazing: great guide, wonderful sites. A life changing experience
Had a great time! The driver and the guide were excellent! Would definitely recommend and possibly do again!
Easy to book this tour through Viator at a fraction of the cost of the cruise excursion. Picked up by minibus at the cruise port, we were taken to the tour bus Terminus where we boarded our coach for the day. In all there were 36 of us on our coach, together with Magnus, our guide. We had a fantastic full day with so much to see and do - in fact we had more time at the different places that we visited and didn't have to hang around waiting for people. Stopped briefly to look at geo-thermal steam vents before going on to Thingvellir National Park. Stunning landscapes here where the continental plates American and Asian Tectonic plates meet. Magnus also showed us the Althing - the site of the first legislative assembly in Iceland. Onto Gulfoss falls - seven separate falls joined together to form one huge waterfall complex - life-enhancing. Plenty of time here for a really good look as well as a quick bite to eat.Drove on to the Geysir which was a weird moonlike area with vents and deep blue pools everywhere you looked - one geysir erupting every 3 to 4 minutes. Short stop at the site of the old Bishop's Palace where we were lucky enough to be there while two girls sang Icelandic folksongs - very atmospheric. Final stop was at the Geo-thermal power plant - interesting and a ggod place for coffee and cake to end our day.
If you don't want to hassle with driving around but still want to see the sights outside of Reykjavik then this tour is definitely for you. Our tour guide was funny and engaging and explained enough about each of the sights we visited while also giving us time to explore on our own. And, because we were so good about getting to the bus on time for our next sight, he added in a couple of additional places worth seeing which was a nice added bonus. Additionally, the bus was well appointed and provided convient pick-up and drop-off locations witin the city.
Very good, one of best tours we have ever taken. We plan to return to Iceland see much more of the country.
It was just great! We saw so much and enjoyed every bit of it. Tour guide and bus driver were top of the line. I'd recommend it to everyone,
Totally excellent Our female guide was very friendly and knowledgable
A wonderful and interesting day full of spectacular surprises all amid the glorious autumn colours.
Fabulous tour, gorgeous waterfalls and scenery and wonderful , powerful gyser. VERY ENJOYABLE
The trip was very informative. The rain was a bit put offish but that is NO ONES fault. The lunch stop was very good.
This was truly a fantastic trip. Iceland is such a beautiful country and this trip gives you the chance to see things you would probably miss if you done it by car hire? Plenty of stops so no problem with toilets or eating and drinks.
This is a must for anyone new to Iceland.
This tour was wonderful, very informative and great scenery. The geological info was very good and the views great. We got to see the waterfall Faxi as time permitted, and the sorting pens for the free range sheep once they were being gathered in, as time was sufficient. Even the 'commercial' stops were good. Icelandic people are friendly with great senses of humour.
Pick up was on time and convenient, the bus comfortable and the sights interesting and some just plain awesome! It was well worth the money!
A long day, but covered a lot of ground. Saw everything that I hoped to see, and the time spent at each site was just right.
Beautiful trip. Tour guide was knowledgeable and fun and the scenery was incredible.

Even with the terrible rainy and foggy weather, we were still able to really enjoy this tour. Our tour guide, Dee Dee was not only informative but very entertaining as well. She sang some of the local historic songs for us and possesses a terrific voice. The highlights for us were the rift and the Geothermal Power Station... very interesting.
Highly recommend this as opposed to driving because while I found the roads were quite good, there were not many signs. It would be easy to get lost and people are so sparse and spread out that it would be tough to find help should you need it! The tourguide was great--a real local. So we got a taste of Icelandic humor and stories and the inside scoop. Would definitely recommend this tour. High yield. Efficient use of time. Great stops and explanations.
