Absolutely amazing experience, and the anticipation of seeing the Northern Lights was brilliant. We saw what was rated as 6,510, so i will definitely be returning to hopefully improve this rating!! With a professional camera too!

Our first trip was cancelled because of cloud cover. We knew that nothing was guaranteed of course, but went on the next available trip just in case, and, after quite a long trip out to 'chase the possibilities', we saw the elusive lights!! It was well worth the trip, even though they weren't at full strength. I guess we must have stood watching them for over an hour, before I felt myself shivering with the extreme cold. 'Awe and wonder' can only stand so much cold!! A fun guide and a lovely trip. Most of us fell into a contented sleep on the way back.

My boyfriend and I had a great trip. Apart from being absolutely freezing we loved the northern lights. We were worried as our guide thought that we wouldn't have a good chance of seeing them, but to our surprise and his we did end up seeing them and were very impressive.

The tour guide was so friendly and informative. We saw one of the best displays even though it was sixteen below outside.

Our travel date was changed by the operator to a clearer night, the tour guide and driver were fantastic, we saw the Northern Lights by Gullfoss Waterfall and arrived back at hotel at 2.30am!! An experience not to be missed.

Highly recommend the experience. Although we saw only 30 of the northern lights, it was a very enjoyable night out.

The lights were a bit off the night I went, but we saw them and we saw an amazing starry sky.

The tour guide was excellent. We drove for 1.5 hours out of Reykjavik in search of clear skies - they really do try their best to seek out the best spot. We didn't get a great show as the lights were in a 'low' phase since solar activity was average. Nevertheless we saw the lights and the stars were incredible.

Tried and tried to get the best view possible, but the lights would not cooperate, we did get a glimpse though!

The moon was very bright, and fairly cloudy so didn't get to see the lights, however I feel it was not wasted money as they drove for 4 hours in the hope that we could drive away from the clouds, but to no avail. I really enjoyed the trip in itself as the guides were wonderful and tried their hardest. It was very windy and we were getting on and off the bus, so be prepared to get cold. The next night we went again at 50% discount because we didn't see them the night before, and again the moon was bright but not so cloudy, we were treated to a five minute display before the clouds came in. It was amazing to see, although not for very long, and after all no one can control mother nature. However we went into Reykjavik the next day and were walking back to the hotel when the most magical display of northern lights appeared for 45 mins, and it was free! It is not a guarantee that you will see the lights obviously, but we learned so much on the two trips and felt that they really earned their money. They drive you away from the lights of the city and as much as possible away from the clouds, but they cant control nature so be prepared to be disappointed. The people at the office gave us their honest opinion and if they thought it was likely we would see them they seemed totally honest and more interested in us having a good time than them earning some money. Ironically, we saw the most spectacular display for free the next night wondering back to our hotel room. Amazing to see but can be seen for free along the bay.

The all-terrain vehicle felt very safe especially in comparison to the standard coaches. Saw one stuck in the snow and had to be pulled out by a digger! The guide was very good, too. However it drove me nuts that we had 2 toilet breaks during the evening - we'd got some clear sky but as opposed to chasing it out of Reykjavik we stopped at a petrol station for 20 minutes. Maybe it was a way of filling the time during the snowy evening but anyone who hadn't had the sense to go to the loo before they came out deserved to suffer!

This tour was very good but wrap up warm, it was very cold. Good tip: Plan your trip to northern lights when the moon will be weak as you get a better chance of seeing them, also the colder the better, the tour guide was very good at first we did get to see the lights but was a little weak, but after about 20 mins. watching them I think he got fed up and we had to leave, so was very disappointed.

The guide did very little to educate or offer information on Iceland and/or the Northern Lights. Plus, we did not see anything. I did the same tour two nights later with another guide, and we not only saw the lights, but also learned an enormous amount about the beautiful country.

We think the driver did not take us to a good place. We hardly saw the lights. Would recommend hiring different excursions from now on. The arrangements were professional though.
