Excellent trip, it was so easy to use, the driver was very friendly and we saw so many interesting sights, Reykjavik is a wonderful city and being able to get on and off near the cruise ship was an added bonus, thanks again for a memorable day, Rod and Chris, Scunthorpe uk
A very interesting route through the city. We were impressed with the 24-hour ticket - it allowed us to travel on the afternoon of our arrival and then again the following morning. The drivers were extremely courteous.
The wife and I agree that this was a very good way to see the interesting thing that are offered. That way you can pick and choose the ones that catch your interest.
Excellent way to get an overview of a nice city. Good value for the price. The only downside is that buses run every hour, so getting off means waiting 1 hr for the next bus when perhaps the full hour is not needed or desired for that particular stop.
Informative commentary with a good route. Drivers were helpful. Would recommend the Hop-on Hop-off tour to anyone who has not been to Reykjavik before.
A good overview of the city, though a bit difficult to find the right bus and the stops. It was a long walk from the hotel and unfortunately stopped running before we got back to our hotel.
The Hop-o-Hop off tour was disappointing. The bus was fine, but the stops were just OK. The bad thing is the bus only came around every hour. It was difficult to find enough to do at some of the stops. After one of the stops we just took the local bus back into the downtown area and from there we wee able to walk back to ship.
The tour was OK once you got on. The ticket said from 10am to 6pm. We got off the ship at 9.30 to see the bus leaving the port ... not to return for an hour! As there was only one bus it made it difficult to get on and off with a limited amount of time.
This is an okay tour........not a big city so takes around an hour if you stay on bus. We did later in week so by then we knew most of the city - suggest you do when first arriving. A Lot of the headphone jacks on bus don't work - so you may need to move seats until you find one that works. Not a lot of stops you would want to get off at though (bus station, cruise ship port, mall)....
Most hop-on hop-off buses offer the mos important places in a city... Well... this is different... It is ok if you want to get a general idea of the sorroundings of Reykjavik but it will not show you many important places of downtown... Expensive for what it is...
The bus took us to the national museum and then an hour later when we were at the bus stop a few minutes before the designated stop time it drove right by us and we had to walk back to town..... We got back on the bus downtown again since we'd paid for it and wanted to see all the sights we missed and we laughed when the driver drove by people at the national museum again. When we asked the driver why he wasn't stopping there he had nothing to say. Strange.... Would be better if the stops were more reliable....
Never used it because I was never able to find the buses! Waited (and wasted a lot of time) and a bus never showed. I had my pass for June 8. I questioned the operation of the buses before I even left because my confirmation said they started later but was told that they would be running. My phone calls to the number I was given was never returned. You got my money (had to be pre-paid) but I got no service!!
