A great and exhausting day. We hiked to some beautiful, hidden areas tucked away in the canyons. Our tour guide for this trip was fantastic--funny and helpful, especially when it came to hiking across the streams. We made four hikes overall--each one was progressively harder than the last, but our small group handled it well. The scenery was well worth our efforts.

Brilliant - I would highly recommend this trip. I only had a few days to explore Iceland and this trip was really worthwhile. The journey itself was fun, tour guide was excellent and we even had the opportunity for several small walks. The weather was mixed - sun and snow which suited the atmosphere of Thorsmork.

I did this with my 12 year old and we both enjoyed the stunning beauty. A bit of a hike across some small rivers, over a lot of rocks , and up and down some big hills. Not hard, but one needs to be able to hike an hour.

This is a well thought-out opportunity to see Iceland's nature and geology in action with time to reach out and touch it a little. It was my choice to get my feet wet and test the strength of my clothing by wading in the river and climbing into caves. I couldn't get enough and later in the day I was dry again.

Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and witty and took us through rough terrain along South Coast in a large land rover. We were encouraged to walk behind a waterfall, step on a glacier and view North Atlantic and black seashore on a mountain top in gale force winds! Wonderful photos.

This was a fantastic trip. There were only four of us, with an excellent guide. We saw so much, had enough time at each place to wander, look, ask questions, take photos, etc. My overriding feeling on returning was that Iceland is such a different place, with stunning scenery - it's one of those places, along with watching the sun go down over the Grand Canyon, that everyone needs to see!!

I think the fact that the group was small and we went in a modified vehicle made this trip off the hook! The guide was so knowledgeable. He went with us on all the sites, instead of just dropping us off and leaving us. He climbed every hill, went in every cave, and did everything with us. I would definitely recommend this trip to anyone. The sites were amazing!

This was another great day trip from Reykjavik - long day but we loved it! You'll stop at grocery store for lunch supplies, so if you want something special get the day before in town. First we had nice hike into Thorsmork Park and then we had picnic lunch and then some more exploring. You are on your own for a decent amount of time so keep track of yourself and be sure to be back to bus on time. We blew almost 30 minutes waiting for someone who was sketching by a creek and had no idea what time it was. The hike into the gorge was wonderful but REALLY challenging to get over the moving water in a few places! Be sure you have hiking boots and if you are not good on your feet, just wait for the group to come back. The waterfalls you can walk behind were spectacular but the walk down the muddy trail was a little too scary for me on a rainy day. I turned around and came back the way I went in. Our tour guide was top notch (as was in most of our tours)....long day and big group on bus, but well worth it!
