So much fun! Very nice family run farm. Great experience. The Golden Circle half day tour was plenty. You don't need more than a half day to do it.
Loved this tour. The Lanexs stable staff were helpful, informative and friendly. Our driver was extremely knowledgable about Iceland's history and legends. I would do this all over again. To top off the great service, the scenery around the ranch was breathtaking!
This tour was amazing from beginning to end! All of the guides were extremely knowledgable about Iceland and not to mention friendly. The tour of the geysers was especially exciting, as well. The pungent smell of sulfur certainly made it memorable ;)
Love love loved this tour! The guides were all so helpful and wonderful. Made our experience 100% delightful. Wanted to go back the next day, very well done.
This tour was amazing, they came and picked me from the hostel. The horses were very friendly and really knew what theory were doing, they all kept in track and speeded only when there is a gap to catch up with the herd or when asked to. Everyone was so happy by the end of the ride. The people in the farm were very friendly too, I didn't have comfy shoes for riding so they gave me a pair for the ride, they also fitted all our helmets and helped up get on the horses. They also gave up cakes at the end. The Gold circle is a must, there was enough time for photos. The only negative point i'd mention, was that the tour didn't start at 9 as mentioned, it started at 12, so i called the number Viator recommended at 9am and they said the tour will start at 12. Maybe i should have called the day before to clarify.
Great combinations of the tour. The horse-riding activity was exciting. The icelandic horses were loyal and easy to control. It took us about an hour to wait for the coach but complimentary food and coffees were served, so it wasn't a problem at all.
The landscape of Gulfoss and Geysir was awesome.
The people at Laxnes (the stables) were the nicest people I have ever met! They went above and beyond to give us a good time. They even sent an extra rider to accompany our daughter, to lead her horse since she was a bit young to control the horse. Amazing time, simply amazing...the views, the beautiful and gentle horses, the people, etc! The bus trip afterward was good, but paled in comparison to the morning adventure. :)
This tour was the best one we have ever experienced. The Viking horse-riding will live in our memories forever. The Laxnes farm was wonderful and the home cooked lunch (1,000isk) was just what we needed after riding. These horses were the kindest, most patient horses we have ever ridden, and the scenery was breathtaking. The Gulfoss and Geysir tour afterwards did not disappoint. Our photos do not do justice to the Iceland scenery. I highly recommend this tour.
great trip! everyone at the farm was super friendly, the horses are awesome, our guide for the Golden Circle half day tour was very knowledgeable. A must do when in Iceland!
Even though it was pouring rain, I had a wonderful time! The trail was beautiful and the horses were so much fun. The farm had all the rain-proof coats and pants that we needed and it kept us warm and comfortable. After the ride we warmed up with some delicious soup and hot coffee. The tour bus part was a little rushed and I would have liked to explore some of the locations at a slower pace, but since I only had a few days in Iceland, this was a nice way to see it all.
Best, most comfortable and most well behaved horses we've ever been on. Also the horse farm was very pleasant to visit and the hospitality and warmth of the owners was incredible. Would definitely do it again.
We had a fantastic time and the folks at Laxnes Horse Farm were wonderful. The horses were very safe (I had a broken wrist and still managed to ride) but we also were able to trot and canter a bit on the trails. I might even suggest trying to squeeze two horse rides into your trip.
