Delayed due to poor weather we were unlucky to only see a whale tail in the distance.
Saw plenty of Minke whales! We were told that the humpbacks are only present for about 2 weeks per year. I'm not sure when exactly, but don't count on seeing them.
The guide was very friendly and informative and there was a great atmosphere on the boat.
It lasted for more like 2 hours than 2.5 but we had a successful trip so we were satisfied.
Also saw puffins! :D
I saw whales! Another life long dream realized. This was a great boat ride with a great guide and captain. The tour co provides warm gear so you are comfortable and can atch for whales and see exciting bird activity.
Spot on boat and staff. Didn't see whales first time so we were given a second ticket. On the second trip we saw harbour porpoises and minke whales. Meet them don't eat them was our thoughts and the crew seemed to agree. Great to see them!
Pick up from hotel was a bit difficult, since the driver waited in another street.. (have could we have known???) We had to call them, so they came back for us and it was no trouble after that.. And we were lucky enough to see a whale:)
Bad sea, no whale... But the team was really nice and professional and option to come back for free was offered but after such a sickness, not tempted really...
we didn't see any whales on our tour but was offered a voucher to go back another time. it was rainy and windy that day. wear the overalls - they definitely keep you warm
A nice trip when there are some whales, but it can happen that there isn't anyone.
Well organised and a comfortable boat. Unfortunately the advertised complimentary hot drinks didn't exist and we didn't see any whales. We were given complimentary passes for another trip but as we were leaving the next day that wasn't much use to us.
I had to take this twice to actually see the whales but it was pretty amazing once I did. The tour guide(s) were very informative and the boat was very nice - much smaller than the other boats that also do this same tour.
On the day that we were there we only spotted one Minkhie Whale. (sorry if that's spelled wrong) Then only fleeting glimpses.
The crew did warn us about spray on the upper deck, they didn't say that it would be like having buckets of water thrown over us.
Be warned, and be prepared. Wear waterproof clothing or get wet.
The crew, tour guide and content were great, however no Whales appeared this time around. We did get an open return trip to try again which was a great touch, so we plan to use it on our next visit!
