the view was great , The boats were clean and the staff was great and also the ice cream !
The Rhine River Cruise was delightful with the option to stop at the towns along the way. Even though the cruise started early, we could not spend , much time at the fortress. It would have been nice if our vouchers allowed for a two day option...cruise on day one and ride the gondola and tour the fortress on day two. Both were exciting and required more time than was allotted in one day.
Enjoyed the beautiful scenery but was disappointed with information on the boat for stops and what was at each. The crew didn't speak good English and we didn't speak German so it was hard to communicate. Trip would have been nicer had there been a detailed guidebook of what there is to see in each village, times of operation and business's names and what they offer.
The tour was nice, the ground staff was also good, but the catering staff on board was rude and unfriendly, probably because they don't have much in terms of competition
I've wanted to take a Rhine river cruise for a long time so I took this opportunity when it came along. The cruise was a little less than I had anticipated. Although the scenery was beautiful, the trip was hot (very hot day) and not exactly what I expected. We saw the castles along the river but I would have liked more history about them and explanations of what we were seeing from a crew member or cruise director. The food on board was okay but nothing special. A longer trip or possibly an overnight river cruise might be more of what I expected. It was "okay" but not something to rave about.
Tour was good for a quick cruise to see countryside, vineyards and castles. I was expecting the cruise to provide more historical information as we past castles and towns. They seemed more concerned about serving food and drinks.
If I had been able to go on the river cruise I would tell you! I was super upset to arrive in Koblenz and make it the site to find the office closed for an hour. We went back 30 mins before the last cruise leaving for the day and that is where we were informed that if we wanted to do the cruise and see the fortress we needed to be there at 9 am. No where did I read this info when we made the reservations. We made a special trip by train in and out of Koblenz specifically for the cruise and trip to the fortress. My friend and I felt misled and wished we had not spent money on something we did not get to do. Not to mention the time and money we spent just to get there and spend the day there. It was a beautiful day and it made it even more disappointing to not be able to go on the cruise.
