Exceeded expectations all around. Theater was old in a charming way. Show was extraordinary with both dancing and cool feats from five guys who could do some incredibly strong and fast dance-tricks that wow'ed the audience. There were also a few variety acts to round off the show which were entertaining as well. Based on some folks negative comments about the theater I wasn't sure if my wife and I should go or not, but omg thanks goodness we went else we would have missed out a super important facet of the brazilian culture and in a way our trip would not have been complete.
Great way to experience the African, Portuguese and Brazilian dance culture. The costumes were amazing and the performers were truly talented. The location could have been better. The seating was like a dinner theater and chairs were not comfortable. Our tour included dinner prior to the show which was excellent!
Same comment here about the time it took to pick up other customers along Copabana Beach on the way to the show. Surprised to see that dinner was not at the Plataforma show - I would have not included dinner had I realized this. Dinner was fun - once - but not twice as we went there again on the next day. No problems with the staff but again the logistics makes it really hard for them to provide a good service.
I booked this tour through Viator because I was traveling alone in Rio, only had limited phone connectivity and liked the fact that it included a transfer to and from the venue. It was only after I booked and paid for the tour that it was mentioned that I would need to phone the local tour company to confirm the transfer. This was a massive inconvenience and ended up costing me a lot of money making the phone calls. The show itself would appeal mainly to an older audience.
Excellent meal followed by a vibrant, exciting Samba Show. A highlight of our Rio stay.
Costumes were beautiful! Show was fun and energetic. Dinner was at a restaurant nearby. It was not at the venue. Food was good but not great. Show is definitely worth doing. Fun night out and festive!
Good show, not very luxurious seats. The music was good and costumes fabulous. We enjoyed the male dancer, who was able to perform some very fast movements. We took the meal first, which was good, but the beef was not as plentiful as the one we went to in Brasilia. Transport and guide good.
Dinner was decent but not great , it was a typical Brazilian steakhouse with salad bar. Show itself was awesome, beautiful costumes and nice performances. Performers gave time before and after to take pictures and no problem taking flash photos during show. overall an enjoyable tour. only issue was amount charged differed from website , I contacted the email for customer service but no reply
