- Complimentary port pickup and drop off
- Covered by Viator's worry-free policy: guaranteed on-time return to the port
What You Can Expect
After pickup from the Rio cruise ship port, meet your tour guide and board your vehicle for the trip to the Cosme Velho station.
Climb aboard the cog train and ride through Tijuca National Park's rainforest to the top of Corcovado Mountain. Enjoy the steep journey through the dense Atlantic forest, watching out for local wildlife along the way.
When you reach the top of the mountain, spend about an hour there. Marvel at the iconic Christ the Redeemer statue and enjoy views out over Rio and its surroundings. Your guide will provide engaging and informative commentary about the history of the site.
After descending the mountain, explore Pepino and São Conrado beaches, where you can watch surfers and hang gliders take advantage of the tropical wind and waves.
At the end of your 5-hour tour, enjoy drop-off back at the cruise port.
We will ensure your timely return to Rio de Janeiro for this activity. In the rare event your ship has departed, we will arrange for transportation to the next port-of-call. See our terms and conditions for full details.
Our trip could not have been nicer. We were picked up at the cruise terminal right on time and I believe there were eight of us from the ms Maasdam. We stopped at a hotel to pick up more people, but none were there, so off to the mountain we went. Our guide (can't remember his name) was just great. This tour took place during Carnival but even with the throngs of people in Rio, everything was very smooth.
I highly recommend your company and this tour.
WOW! The ride up to the statue gave some incredible sights of the city and forest. At the top by the base of the statue was like being on top of the world. The views, the statue....Rio is so blessed to have this as a tour in their city. WOW!!
Very well organized. Everything was on time and very safe.
The half day tour was interesting and informative. It was good!
We enjoyed the trip. Surprised that we had to change buses a.good value. Three stars
Pick up service was disappointing because of the large number of other tops before actually getting to the Redeemer tour. Took two hours before we actually arrived!
Would have used a private service if I had known this.
The Corcovado Mountain is worth to visit. But the arrangement of this tour was really bad. We were in the bus for two and half hours to reach there because they have so many pick up and waiting. We were from the port which should take only 30 minutes to reach there. Also this tour should be done in the morning time instead of afternoon plus with the two hours delay, we reached the top at 5:30pm which hardly see the Chris Redeemer Status. The place is worth to visit but I won't recommend this company.
We are a group of 6 who booked for a private tour through Viator prior to us starting our cruise.
We were booked for a 1.30pm pick up from the Port at Rio de Janeiro - we had confirmed pick up details 24hrs prior - we were on shore 30 minutes early luckily. Had to make 2 more telephone calls to Viator to try and locate where the pick up was - eventually we were able to locate the person holding a sign with our names on she certainly didn't have a blue t-shirt on as described by the telephone instructions
After boarding the mini van the pick up lady who we assumed was the guide said we we were going to meet the guide.....well, we arrived at the Corcovado 1 hours later and guess what - No Guide waiting for us - So we waited approx 1 hour for a Big Bus with approx 40 tourists and a guide. So much for a guided experience with a small group of our 6 persons.
Sorry Viator your communication needs help.
