One of the best tours we ever had. Mario, the tour director made it even more enjoyable with his helpful nature, witty comments, jokes and songs. The tour was very informative and enjoyable. Keep about 200 euros cash in hand per person if you want to avail of all the optional tours/visits. Florence Museum tour was an eye opener for us with its vast collection of paintings. Venice was unforgettable. At St. Marks square they have live orchestra which is spell bounding. Wish Viator had arranged the first evening dinner in Venice in a restaurant near the orchestra ! It would have been an unforgettable experience. Similarly, on second day in Venice, they should provide lunch instead of dinner, and keep the entire afternoon (after lunch) free for shopping and personal visits. That way there would be no compulsion of rushing back for dinner from wherever you are. Overall, a very well organised tour.
Thoroughly enjoyed this trip. Time to see and do a variety of things.
Amazing tour our guide Stephano was great. This tour gives you so much to see and still plenty of free time to explore on your own. We will definitely book with viator to see southern italy
This tour took us to some wonderful areas, Tuscany was just as I imagined it to be. The motel in Florence was a disgrace and the restaurant was a continual line of feeding one bus load after another. The motel in Venice was right on the Grand Canal and really lovely (we paid the higher rate and were pleased as the cheaper rate motel was on the mainland and nowhere near the canals) Unfortunately, our tour guide was inept and we were late for most things we went to which cut our time down at each place. However, in fairness, we did have some bad luck in being delayed coming out of Rome due to a car accident and leaving Venice back to Rome, with a broken hydraulic line on the bus, the fact remains he was completely disorganized throughout the trip.
Very well organised way to see the historic centres of a number of famous cities. It's actually a sort of holy pilgrimage as many of the main places to see are the Basilicas of Catholic saints. However if that doesn't interest you the guide will point you in the direction of shops and restaurants. The guide did a good job of looking after everyone and the hotels were good.
I would highly recommend this tour. Our guide Alessandro was informative, humorous and very accommodating. Initially, for our travel to Italy, I considered renting a car or catching the train to all the cities included in the tour and "doing it on my own". For those of you thinking that you can save a few bucks and just rent a car, book tickets for your sites of interest and hotels-FORGET IT!!!! Travel by car including parking at every city we toured was horrible so to have a bus pull up to the site, have the "skip the line tickets" and have your guide explain the historical significance of every basilica, monument, historical site, etc was well worth every penny. By the way, the bus was new, clean, had free wifi and very comfortable. Even the hotel check in process was seamless-we got off the bus, pulled our bags into the lobby, and were handed our room keys within just a few minutes. Bottom line, save yourself a huge headache and book with these guys. The entire tour was as simple as showing up with your bags in Rome then hopping on the bus, everything else was expertly planned
This was a great way to see a lot in a short period of time. Tour guide Stefan was very good. He handled the tour group very professionally. His English was also very good and he was easy to understand. All of our stops were well planned and although we did not take any of the optional excursions, others in our group said they were also well organized. Only negative I could say is that the walking tour guide in Venice was difficult to understand and the meals at the hotels were not the greatest. That being said I rate the overall experience excellent. My wife, 2 adult children and I enjoyed it very much.
Outstanding guide. Well organized and knowledgable. Could not have been better.
We had the best time! Our guide Clara was exceptional and very helpful and friendly. Luigi our driver was lovely and very friendly also. We loved every place that we went and especially loved the singer during our optional gondola ride in Venice. We would highly recommend the tour. We also met some wonderful people which made the 5 days even more special. We have used Viator a lot and have never been disappointed. Well done and thank you.
Expected a list of Questions. Happy w/bus and certainly the driver-excellent (must be good since he's from Naples.) Really lucked out w/folks on tour, altho only about 17 out of 45 speaking or understanding English. Connected w/4 particularly--shared much vino, etc. Hotels were satisfactory--Del Fino best.(glad we were on mainland). Very impressed w/Giovanni in Florence--could tell he truly loves the magnificent ART. Liked Bologna much and surprised it's not talked up more. So glad the night tour was available before we explored Venice in daylight--way more impressive that way.
it is simply breath taking. Visited a lot of beautiful places that no way I could have seen so much by my own in only five days. Was well organized, tour guide was very informative, worth every penny. Also there were couple of nice optional tours like going to Pisa in the afternoon, and Venice walking tour by night. Keep some cash handy if you are planning to do these additional tours as well. Accommodation and food was very good as well.
Our 5-day Italy tour was amazing! I enjoyed every minute! We got to see so many citites and sites within such a limited amount of time. It was perfect!
this is a really good tour - the tour guide Patrizia was very informative and fun, the driver Sabotino was great, they are just two very good people that made sure all was well - I highly recommend this tour
The trip was well planned. Assisi, Siena, Bologna, Paduva and Montepulciano were excellent stops on our way to Florence and Venice respectively. Our tour operator, Nicole, was very helpful and well prepared for the trip. There was no delay in checking into the hotels. We went on all the optional tour. It was worth spending the extra money. The price for the trip was correct based on the hotels that we stayed. Overall it was enjoyable trip.
