Ostia was great. The guide was decent, but his interest in the tour seemed to come and go.

There are more ruins in Ostia in one concentrated area than in the city of Rome. Definitely a must-see! Our guide was well informed; however he didn't share his knowledge with the group. He seemed sleepy and upset about being on the tour.

Ostia is beautiful and peaceful. If you're looking to do something away from the hustle of the city for half the day, this is a nice break. Ostia is older than Rome and still has huge mosaics intact. It's worth doing if you have the time.

Ostia is a very interesting place to visit. However our guide on site only spoke German and Spanish and the other guide had trouble keeping up with him. She did her best though.

It was informative, but a little disappointing.

This tour was a total disaster. The tour guide was lax and not interested in giving us any details nor in conducting the tour. He came right out and said that it was too hot and that he planned to cut the tour short. We were rushed onto the bus and then on our trip home, circled Rome, obviously to eat up time because we were too early to return to the tour headquarters. So, for a lot of money, we got an un-narrated tour of Rome. As far as Ostia goes, it is ok but really just a bunch of endless ruins without much distinguishing characteristics. The only interesting item was the amphitheater with its three columns topped with dramatic faces. I sincerely do not recommend this tour.

The sites at Ostia are amazing, especially considering when the structures were built. However, our tour guide was atrocious. He made inappropriate and offensive jokes, smoked non-stop, and gave a completely random tour that was hard to follow and gave inaccurate information.
