The history of the colleasum can be overwhelming without a tour guide. Alfrado (he also was our tour guide for the Vatican tour) helped simplify the information so we could grasp it. This tour involves a lot of walking! Make sure you wear comfy shoes and bring some water. You will go from the colleasum, forum, Pantheom, trevi fountain and end at a square. Alfrado also showed us some excavation sites, which was pretty neat. We brought our six month old and she did great, so anyone can do this tour as long as you're in good health and ready to walk!

It poured during our walking tour and we were the only couple on this tour. Not the best of situations for an outside walking tour but we made the best of it. Luckily we got a brief respite during our tour of the Colleseum and the Forum as they are best enjoyed when it is not raining. Our tour guide, Micheala, was amazing under the circumstances. She is a trained archaeologist and was so knowledgeable it brought everything to life for us. The Colleseum was overwhelming. The fact that it was raining while we were in the Pantheon, which has an open roof, was actually pretty interesting. I never saw it rain in the middle of a church on the marble floors. They have built in drainage in the floor. This added to our experience. Don't forget the throw a coin over your shoulder into the Trevi Fountain to make sure you sre destined to come back to Rome. Definitely worth taking the tour - I will cross my fingers for sunny weather for you but, just in case, don't forget your umbrella!

Our tour guide Priscilla was superb. Definitely the simplest way to get the key information about Ancient Rome. Great day out and just made us want to get back to Rome to learn more.

This was the best tour, started on time and moved easily through all of ancient Rome. It was a nice walk, and of course the gelato stop was much appreciated.
So much to see but the tour covered the best highlights, our guide spoke very good English, and was very sweet.

Choosing this trip with Viator was a great idea: we skipped all the lines, had a great tour guide (thanks Vivien!) and heard all great stories that you can never find in the books. We highly recommend it to all.

When going on this tour we were the only ones, the local guide was just terrific, so much knowledge of the history surrounding the ruins and local area, it was just awesome. I would strongly recommend this tour to anyone going to Athens, and the company was great to deal with.
