I would highly recommend this tour. Our tour guide was awesome, very informative. It was well worth the money. Best way to see the Colosseum!
This tour was amazing. One of the best we went on in Italy. Well worth the extra money. Loved the smaller group, the extra colosseum access and information. Lots of fun and pictures.
We went for the 8:30 tour and it was excellent. In the colosseum before it was busy and getting the extensive tour was great. The tour guide was fantastic and great at interacting with everyone. The tour was brilliant and would recommend to anyone!
FABULOUS! So much information! Our tour guide, Emmanuela, was outstanding. Not only is she full of so much information, she is a true Roman! That just added to the entire experience. She was warm, fun and caring. We ran into Emmanuela while we were on another tour; she greeted us by name with a hug and a smile! The Colosseum is another one of those places with so much history. It leaves you wanting more or the ability to go back in time and experience all this wonder. Emmanuela knew the answer to all our questions (and we had a lot). LOTS of walking with this one. Make sure your shoes are comfortable because it is so worth it.
Loved loved loved this tour!!! So well worth not having to wait in the excruciatingly long line to get into the Colosseum, and on top of that, we gained access to areas not covered in the other tours and general admission tix. Loved our tour guide, who was so full of information, and easy to understand...even my kids enjoyed listening to him!!!
We loved every minute of it! Very detailed explanation of the Colosseum with access to all levels - the view from the top level is breath taking. Our tour guide Francesca was wonderful, explaining the past, connecting with the present. It's an eye opening tour. The tour of the Roman Forum was great too. We didn't expect to walk so much - make sure you wear sneakers or walking shoes. We didn't go into the museums in the Forum, but after the tour is over you can go back and spend the whole day there.
Our tour guide was excellent on this tour. The historical and archeological insights she provided were very helpful. In addition, we had access to places that you can't see otherwise. There is a lot of walking and climbing stairs, so be prepared. We did this in early April, so the mid-summer heat was not a factor. This was a great tour.
Loved this tour, did this tour more of the Colosseum. A must see in Rome!
Absolutely AMAZING! We were able to see portions of the Colosseum that are generally off limits to the general public. Our tour guide, (I believe his name was Maurizio) was WONDERFUL! He really made Ancient Rome come alive in the way he shared information. I would go back and do this tour again, especially with him.
This was really awesome, and the exclusivity was better than expected. Our group got to access private areas with limited access and were the only group allowed to enter at a given time. Would certainly recommend this tour.
Guides were very knowledgeable and encouraged questions. It was great to be able to go into the areas that were off-limits to the "regular" tourists. The view from the upper tier is awesome. Having a guide explain the details of the ruins on the Palatine is also very helpful, not to mention fascinating. And, of course, it is much better to spend your time in Rome actually seeing the sites and learning the history instead of standing in lines just to get in to the basic areas of the Colosseum. Once you see the length of just that one line you'll be thankful you took the tour!
This was far the best tour I have ever been on!! cannot recommend this enough. our tour guide was an architect so was very knowledgeable about the sites, materials and working practice. He also brought the fun back into history. Getting access into parts of the colosseum not usually open to normal ticket holders was a great touch. it was the first tour I have been on that uses mobile headphone sets which is much better than the usual tour guide shouting over 50 people. overall very happy and recommend to everyone wanting a good history lesson of rome in its entirety in a few hours.
My husband and I were both very impressed with the Dark Rome Tour that we booked while in Rome. It was absolutely the best tour ever. Our tour guide Sev was from New York and was one of the best tour guides ever. He made this tour so interesting that we learned a great deal about the Colleseuem, Forum and Rome in general. We both would highly recommend this tour as a must while in Rome.
