This was one of my favorite tours. The countryside was beautiful, and seeing Assisi has always been a dream of mine. It was well worth it. The guide was very informative.

Excellent trip. Felt somewhat rushed through the village of Assisi, but lunch at the Windsor Savoia was wonderful! Enjoyed the view of the countryside. The stay at the pottery factory was a bit long, simply a chance to buy souvenirs. I was offered coffee and then was asked to pay for it. Otherwise an excellent day trip!

The hotel pickup is such a wonderful way to start this incredible tour. We arrived in Orvieto very early so the light was perfect, bending into the charming streets as the shopkeepers swept their storefronts. This Cathedral is jaw-droppingly unique with its two colored stone. You can buy lovely ceramics here and also excellent bronze replicas of Etruscan artifacts at local shops. At Assisi we took a nice walk through the city and I was blown away by what is certainly one of the most amazing man-made structures on Earth. The pale pink and plain Basilica celebrating St. Francis was very moving for me. I was agog at the size and color of Giotto's murals inside and the veritable feast for the eyes. The crypt and the adjoining Chapels below the Basilica are intensely spiritual for many to reflect on a life of selflessness and good works. Our accompanying Guide and the local Guide at Assisi were both so pleasant and accommodating. Our driver delivered us safely near our hotels. It was a beautiful experience.
