The trip was great. The driver picked me up from the hotel even though I forgot to call. The only 2 complaints I have is that the guide could have presented more information of what we were passing by and the lunch wasn't cooked properly. The pork meat was raw. So eat along the way. But the views and the trip itself were worth every penny.

I would rather have gone just to Assisi and had more time there. Oriveto was not that great.

The tour of both Orvieto and Assisi was good and exceeded my expectations, both sites were wonderful, lunch was delicious however we were given 10 minutes to meet in Assisi and told there would be shopping afterward, this didn't occur and we were rushed to the bus. Most people were disappointed and annoyed that there one chance in Assisi on getting gifts did not occur due to an oversight by the tour guide as everyone arrived at designated times and places as advised.

Everything that we had expected. Great trip, really enjoyed Orveato a little more time there may have been nice. Assissi was great and we saw everything that we expected that we would. Lunch was very nice. We would highly recommend this tour to anyone.

It was a long day with a lot of driving on the bus but the sites and lunch in Tuscany were amazing. Orvieto was a little empty when we got there in the morning, but it was beautiful. The lunch in typical Tuscany was great and we were able to buy some wine, olive oil, and other typical Italian food. In the afternoon Assisi was gorgeous, though by that time we were a little tired of going into so many churches.

We thoroughly enjoyed the day trip to the Tuscany and Umbria areas. We had a lovely breakfast there and had no problems returning to the bus. The views were lovely, and the place chosen for our lunch stop was fantastic. On arrival, the wine and food tasting was a nice treat, and the lunch and wine provided were wonderful. I enjoyed it all, especially the visits to the three main cathedrals there. All in all, it was a wonderful day, which I would heartily recommend.

My husband, who is somewhat handicapped as a result of a stroke, was able to enjoy the tour, even the steep climb to Orvieto, thanks to the effective assistance of our tour guide. Also, it began to rain as we reached Assisi, and rather than facing a slippery walk on the cobblestones my husband was able to stay on the bus and rejoin the group after our visit to the Basilica of Saint Francis.

This was a wonderful day with every detail covered nicely! I couldn't imagine trying to do this myself. Getting out of Rome for the day and seeing the beautiful Italian countryside was great, and the setting for our lunch was just lovely! I would do it again!

This is a great day trip to see Orvieto and Assisi, as it covers the highlights of each region and includes a wonderful lunch at a Tuscan farmhouse. If you have some extra time in Rome and would like to see other regions, this tour is well worth the time.

Not enough time in Orvieto. The tour guide was not knowledgeable, nor did he provide any historically insightful information. This was a quiet trip. Lunch was light, and consisted of the same meal we ate on the Naples and Pompeii tour.

The tour guide was informative and low key, just what I like. The driver was excellent, he knew his way around.

Took the day trip to Orvieto and Assisi from Rome. I was very satisfied. They picked us up from the hotel on time, transported us to the office in Rome where we got on another bus and headed to Orvieto as our first stop. Orvieto is a lovely town up in the Umbrian hills. I wish we could have spent more time there. Our next stop was for lunch at a restaurant that also gave us some food samples and wine. The lunch was very good, the people at the restaurant were warm and welcoming. We continued onto Assisi and it was a wonderful experience to visit the Basilica of St. Francis, and walk the winding narrow streets of this old town. We also visited the Church of St. Clare and a third church where St. Francis actually built a chapel, and this magnificent cathedral was built around it. The guide who was with us all day was a lovely man who pointed out different sights along the way. The local guide in Assisi was extremely nice as well and I am glad that I had the opportunity to visit these two very special places in Italy.

Going in a small van with a small group (~10) rather that a 50 person bus made this trip more enjoyable for us. The tour guide did a good job, although more insights on the churches would have been better. The local guide hired in Assisi could have been better. She pretty much walked down hill straight through without giving us any insights along the way.

Gracious and knowledgeable tour guide. Loved the Tuscan lunch and the visit to the local winery.

The bus was air-conditioned, and the countryside was beautiful. Orvieto and Assisi were also great. However, the guide was very hard to understand and seemed bored to death. He barely gave us any info as we travelled, so it was a long trip. The lunch was good and in a beautiful spot, but the wine-tasting consisted of a thimbleful of wine, and the products they sold were very overpriced as we saw the same things in Rome for half the price.

Assisi, Orvieto, and Santa Maria degli Angeli are all places definitely worth visiting. A one-day trip from Rome is not the optimal way to do that. There just isn't enough time spent on each site. The pick-up was convenient and timely. It was disappointing to see that it was a smaller bus with no on-board toilet facility. There is none at the offices. We went during a particularly hot spell in Rome, and the bus air conditioning was not able to really keep up with it. The driver keep the temp at 19 degrees, which with all the windows in the bus getting sun didnt keep the bus cooler. The driver and guide were selling chilled half-liter bottles of water for 1 euro each. The guide was okay, but basically read from a script. We were on our own in the Orvieto cathedral. Lunch was tasty and including some minimal samples of local products. It took a bit too long, which took away from time spent at the sites of interest. Absolutely no drinks were included, not even water. Then on to Assisi. We were handed off to a local guide who walked us through fast to the Church -- no time to see the town or to grab a gelato or do any shopping other than in the Basica gift shop, and very limited even there. You almost have to choose to see the church or to stop at their gift shop. The basilica itself is on three levels. We had a little difficulty getting back to the meeting point from inside - instructions and signs were not too clear. Santa Maria Degli Angeli was the last stop, the briefest, and the loveliest. We had 15 minutes with no inside guide before the two hour return bus ride.
