Estella leading us to the Trevi Fountain

July 2013

Estella, the best tour guide in Roma!

The entrance into the Pantheon.

January 2013

We are heading into the Pantheon. It is a church so it's open to the public every day except during service hours.

Our first view of the Tiber [not on the tour] with the small island leading to Trastevere, where we found an excellent restaurant - Cornucpia, Piazza in Piscinula

The Victor Emmanuel Monument

Here is Elizabeth with the 'wedding cake' behind her. Not on the tour but worth making the effort to climb up to the rear of it and ascending the elevator for a magnificent view over Rome. [You can just see the elevator glass cage in the middle at the rear].

The Pantheon

This picture shows our guide outside the Pantheon; still raining and getting dark! Toni's enthusiasm made our rain soaked clothes irrelevant!

The Pantheon

Looking up at the dome inside the Pantheon this 'hole' is 43.3m high and 9 metres across. The rain falls onto the floor but there are small holes and an underfloor network of pipes to drain the water away! Good thinking!
