Very informative - an unbelievable history lesson.

Great ride to the catacombs, lots of info. Made Rome come alive. We're also glad we saw the churches.

The tour was great. We had a rainy day, so that put a bit of a damper on it, but still it was worth doing. I had been to Rome before and had been to the Basilicas before, but it was great to have a tour guide this time around. They gave us a lot of information about things rather than just looking around and not really knowing what you were looking at (i.e., who built it, how old it was, etc.).

My expectation of this tour was greater than what I actually received. Nevertheless, from an educational point, this tour was very good. I learned a lot about the catacombs, the great cathedrals in Rome and their historical significance in relationship to the Vatican.

I would have preferred a more in-depth tour, but it was good for an overview. The tour bus was old and grubby. You couldn't even see out of one of the windows. It didn't feel quite clean.

At the time we visited the churches, the liturgies were been celebrated, so it was not the best time for the tour.

It was good, but didn't compare to the other Viator tours we did in Rome.

The guide we had was not very friendly and was quite bossy. She spoke too fast and did not like to answer any questions. The main church we were going to was closed because the Pope was visiting, but there was no alternative offered. I thought the tour was going to concentrate on the catacombs, but instead we only visited one for a short time. The catacomb part of the tour was interesting and the guide there was was very informative.

We were sooo rushed!!! If the tour takes longer, start earlier. I was actually reprimanded for stopping outside and taking 1 photo.

Catacombs well worth doing. Pick up from hotel was somewhat bizarre. The bus stopped and without any real explanation we were told to get off. This, we eventually discovered was in order to board another bus round the corner. This wasn't a problem but quite bewildering at the time.

What we saw was good. We just felt a bit rushed.

It was a dual language tour and the Spanish definitely got the better deal: they were first to do everything! We only got three minutes at the Holy steps, and were moaned at for being late out of the catacombs, even though we all came straight back and didn't get to go in the souvenir shop!

This was more expensive and less informative than any of the other tours we did. Our guide was not at all engaging, and it seemed there was some sort of deal going with one of the street vendors. It was also difficult to follow with the Spanish and English commentaries combined.

The tour was sadly spoilt by the guide, who seemed bored and was almost annoyed that a service in Santa Maria dared to interrupt his tour! The sites visited were very interesting, but I needed longer stops.

Our guide kept repeating himself and using different terms for the same things; e.g., he described some of the statues at Santa Maria Maggiore as apostles and the same statues as martyrs, so I wasn't sure if they were apostles only or included other saints also. I felt he didn't really know his material. At the Catacombs, we were put in such a large group that if we weren't near the guide, we missed some of what he said.
