Truly amazing to see the underground area with only a few other people in the area! We had a very informative guide - I learned a lot of history and was able to imagine what it was really like when the gladiators were preparing for the games. I also really enjoyed the history of the Forum and the various structures from each ruler. This is a tour not to be missed!
I recently did this tour with two of my children, one 15 the other 25, tour was enjoyed by all three of us. Great tour guide, made tour interesting and enjoyable, would recommend to others
I saw the Coliseum several years ago, and this is by far the best way to visit. Not only does the tour happen in the evening when the summer temperatures are not so brutal, but there are no crowds, allowing you to really take in the space and get some great pictures. Be forwarded. We were less than 5 minutes late due to our plane being delayed into Rome, and we had to beg our way into the tour. Several others mentioned the same thing in other reviews and its no joke. In a city that is difficult to travel in, make sure you are there with plenty of time. You dont want to miss this tour.
tour was fantastic a must do if you want to see colosseum in quiet times when it is closed to public and at night
This was a very thorough tour, inclusive of the Roman Forum, loads of history beginning with Trajan's Column, and ending with a wonderful evening tour of the Colosseum. Our archaeologist-leader, Christina, was as knowledgeable as they come, very kind, and kept the pacing going comfortably. I get why they say that strollers and wheelchairs cannot be accommodated--their were a couple of steep hikes up stairs, and the walking is over 10,000 steps, but the evening breeze and lack of sweltering sun keeps the tour enjoyable. My family loved having the Colosseum all to ourselves at this hour, and it's not too dark for awesome photo opps! This was a highlight of our Roman holiday! We learned so much! :
Awesome experience, the Colosseum has a very different feel to it at night time which is worth experiencing. Not only do you get to see a different perspective of the site, but you are also out of the heat and dealing with absolutely no crowds.
We visited the colosseum earlier on the same day on our own - and the contrast to the after hours tour is incredible. This tour is worth every dollar. The dungeons are amazing, but have the colosseum virtually to yourself is priceless. We enjoyed every second. We visited the dungeons, ground floor and first tier - as well as the museum of level 1. I felt like we didn't miss anything by taking the evening tour... in fact, I think it's the best way to do it! Our guide did seem a little unsure/uneducated on a number of facts... but that didn't detract from the end experience at all :
Perfect amount of time to make it through all of the important highlights of this ruin. Our guide was super informative and kept a good pace. We were so grateful that this tour was not in the heat of the day. The evening breeze was welcomed as we enjoyed the views.
fantastic experience with hardly anyone else around. Our guide Sarah was great so much information
It was an excellent tour , our guide was very enthusiastic and made it a pleasure to walk around with her
By far our best tour. Do not tour the Colosseum by day if you have this option. As a single parent this was the only way to see the Colosseum. The day tour would of been too hot. We practically had the place to ourselves. I highly recommend booking ahead and snagging this tour. If you don't like crowds and heat this is the tour for you. Beautiful!!!!!! Well done Viator!!!
We toured the Colosseo firstly in the evening and such a moving experience.
So empty, which cannot be said for the following daytime when my fiancé and I toured - I'd commend this tour as being well worth the costs
Excellent! Excellent! Excellent! Our guide was superb. I will be recommending this tour to all of my friends who travel Europe!
Completely captivating! The tour guide was very informative and gave you a real feel of what it was like to be a Gladiator, or in the crowd. The best part of my trip!!!
We had a very good guide. English was pretty good. Loved the tour at night. It would have been helpful to have a flashlight to see the pictures. A great experience.
Great tour of the colosseum by night, in the day it is crowed and packed. However the night tour is quiet and few people. Worth paying the extra, plus you got to go on the arena floor and see the underground area. Totally different feel of the place at night.
This tour was amazing, the tour guide was very informative and it was a great experience.
I have seen the Coluseum by day with the crowds, this was so peaceful. Be aware that you go all the way down but you are along the side looking in, you do not walk out into the arena. You do also view from the upper levels and look at the displays.
Wow!!! Well worth the money spent on this tour just to be in the Colosseum at night when it was closed to the public. My husband and I were amazed that we were there at sunset and there was only our small tour of 30 people inside!! Our pictures are amazing, there are no people in them, no crowds! The Ancient Rome tour was great as well, but we will never forget the feeling of being inside the Colosseum essentially alone! AMAZING!
This was amazing! Much better than doing a day tour. The number of people that were in the Colosseum when we were was minimal, which made this a very enjoyable tour. We also enjoyed the tour leading up to the Colosseum. Very informative and made for a great evening!
Wonderful tour, incredibly beautiful at night. Our tour guide was incredibly knowledgeable about all the sight on the tour. We highly recommend this be on your list of events when you visit Rome.
The tour was amazing. The guide was very enthusiastic and knowledgeable about all the sites on the tour. Highly recommend this tour due to the lack of crowds!
If you do one thing in Rome, do this! It was amazing! Francesca, our tour guide was so knowledgable and was in fact one of the archealogists who unearthed the last partially remaining statue in coliseum. With few people in the coliseum and at that time of night it's perfect for a visit. No crowds :)
