Wow! This tour was greatWe loved our tour guide Rosella! she was funny, smart and her enthusiasm
was contagious. We were referred to this tour after reading an article in National Geographic Traveler.
The lack of crowds and the beauty of the evening was perfect. It was a perfect introduction to our fabulous three days in Rome!
We had been to the Vatican Museums and the Sistine Chapel during normal hours, but a friend told us that we must see it at night and this tour gave us that opportunity. Our guide, Rosella, was an art historian and restorer who provided insights and understanding to what we were seeing. Guides are not allowed to accompany tours into the Chapel so we were on our own at that point but Rosella had prepared us well for our experience. Being able to observe and take in this incredible masterpiece in a small group setting, for as long as we wanted to stay, was an unforgettable experience!
I would highly recommend this night tour. There were a lot of people but personal attention was given to the group. The guide was knowledgeable and took the time to answer questions from individuals. I was amazed by the amount of visitors who were there on a Friday night.
Really enjoyed this tour. Our guide was very knowledgeable about the Sistine Chapel, and it was very pleasant visiting the museum without the crowds.
A great way to see the Vatican and it beats the craziness of the day crowds.
The night tour of the Vatican Museums and the Sistine Chapel was wonderful. Our tour guide was very informative and had many great facts and stories.
Our guide was great. Well worth the effort - 3 hours - very crowded.
The tour guide was very knowledgeable about many different aspects of the Vatican. And she never rushed us through any portion of the tour including the Sistine Chapel area.
This was a very good tour. Our guide Arianna was terrific. She was very knowledgeable and enthusiastic. We learned a lot and really enjoyed ourselves. We would highly recommend her as tour quide.
A very worthwhile tour, as long as you understand it is just a snapshot of the museums. There is so much to see and our guide was very informative. While there were lot of people there, I imagine daytime would be busier.
Our tour guide Gio was amazing! My sister and a few of our friends were in Rome for a week and did multiple tours, but Gio's tour was by far the best. Although we were jet-lagged and the tour was at 9pm, she managed to keep everyone's attention and not only managed to keep the tour spooky but also really quite funny. I am still re-telling the stories I heard on this tour and I would highly recommend this tour to anyone looking to hear a few urban legends and ancient gossip. My only recommendation is start a little earlier and make this tour longer as it was spectacular!
Simply wonderful. Art historian guide who was fabulous and incredibly well organised. A very big "thank you"
This was our first time visiting Rome and the Vatican museums. There were lots of people but apparently it's much less crowded in the evening than during the day. Our tour guide made the tour very interesting with lots of stories behind the art. There's way more in the museums than you can see in 3 hours, but this tour hits many of the highlights and gives you time to enjoy the Sistine Chapel at the end. Worth staying up late for.
I have been to the Vatican Museum several time in the past; however, the evening tour was everything promised and more. To see the Courtyard of the Pine cone and the dome of the Cathedral lit up at night was breathtaking. The rooms were not as crowded, especially the Sistine Chapel. Our guide was very knowledgeable and steered us to areas that were not crowded, yet were filled with incredible art and sculpture. During the two hour tour and "free time" I had more than enough time to see some of the rooms I have been unable to visit in the past. I would recommend this tour to any visitor to Rome.
Great guide, essential as the place is enormous and you might not get through it all otherwise.
Our guide was a lovely lady who was able to help us understand the paintings and imagery therein.
Good time of day to go as it was definitely quieter, less hot and more comfortable.
This is a great way to skip the massive lines during the day. Our tour guide was wonderful and had so many great tips for our tour. I really felt like I was able to see the most critical things due to her great knowledge and insight. A beautiful way to see the way St. Peter's is lit up at night. Gorgeous!
This tour was fantastic, I could not b elieve how many pieces of art and relics have been kept and of course the Sistine Chapel was amazing. Well worth the money. The guide was knowledgeable and made it interesting.
Fantastic! Our guide, Darius (?) was perfection - immaculate English, incredible depth of knowledge as an art historian, timed everything just right, gave tips on other places to visit that we're really worthwhile, really sweet to the kids and an obviously lovely person. All that topped by his beautiful smile...
Still pretty crowded in places and quite tiring so wear good shoes as there is a lot of ground covered and don't eat at the ristorante directly opposite the exit - very ordinary food and ask the prices first!
