Fantastic! Our guide, Darius (?) was perfection - immaculate English, incredible depth of knowledge as an art historian, timed everything just right, gave tips on other places to visit that we're really worthwhile, really sweet to the kids and an obviously lovely person. All that topped by his beautiful smile...
Still pretty crowded in places and quite tiring so wear good shoes as there is a lot of ground covered and don't eat at the ristorante directly opposite the exit - very ordinary food and ask the prices first!
Arianna was wonderful as the tour guide. Very informative and honest.
A very special evening!!! On time departure, knowledgable and personable guide. We had a great time!
The best way to see the Vatican is at night. They are letting so many people in during the day, I can not imagine what it would be like. Talking to others who did see it during the day, this night tour was the far better experience. Also, It allows for more time to see other things in Rome during the day that are closed in the evening. We enjoyed our guide. She made every effort to help out the group in any way she could.
This tour was great. Our guide had a degree in art history in addition to being a certified tour guide (which is a difficult certification to obtain in Italy). We appreciated her knowledge and passion for this beautiful place. I would strongly recommend anyone visiting Rome to take this tour. If you are not in with a tour group you have to wait in line for hours in the sun and then walk shoulder to shoulder with thousands of other people through the museums. Even skipping the line the crowds are unbearable. With this tour we often were the only people in the hallways. We could get good pictures, and appreciate the art. Also, our guide was excellent. Previously I had toured the museums but on this tour we went through the Pope's apartments. They are no longer furnished, but the walls and the stories are stunning. The disadvantage to the night time tour is that you don't get to skip the cue for St. Peters (go around 5:00 and you'll get right in) and a second disadvantage is that the Sistine Chapel is dimly lit so it was harder to appreciate. There is nothing in the world like the Vatican. I'm confident that this tour is the best way to see it.
We thoroughly enjoyed the tour which had a good guide. The reduced amount of people was also welcome allowing better views and more time when needed.
Awesome experience - heightened by our amazing tour guide - Selena! Is there any way we can send her our compliments directly? Thank you!
We only had a few days to see Rome and this fit our schedule perfectly. We arrived from the US in the AM and after a nap we had a nice supper out and then took this tour. Our guide was wonderful. She was very informative. I learned so much about the Vatican Museum and the Sistine Chapel. I have toured these before but this was so much better. The only thing I would have liked would have been if the price of the ticket would have been included in the price for the Viator tour.
Although we took the Friday Night tour it was extremely crowded. Our guide was phenomenal. She made sure we saw all there was to see.
The tour guide had PHD! Vatican at night is charming, a totally different experience. The tour was around 3 hours and the best thing about it is that it is not as crowded as the morning, so you can enjoy it at your own pace and hear the tour guide clearly.
It was a wonderful tour! We had a very knowledgeable tour guide who was very enthusiastic. We enjoyed this tour immensely!, It was not that crowded at night and we got to skip the line with our guide.
This was absolutely terrific. There were no crowds, our tour guide was a delight and extremely knowledgeable. The tour at night was magical. All six of us loved it. We all would highly recommend it.
The tour was great! I did not know there was other stuff besides the Sistine Chapel to see at the Vatican. I did tour the Vatican 2 years ago but only toured the Cathedral. This was a very good tour.
Wonderful...very nice! Loved it! Meeting at the office was a relief as other times there is difficulty finding your guides. Guide was very knowledgable and so friendly!
The tour guide was great. She was extremely knowledgeable and very nice. I believe she even stayed longer than her allotted time, which was over the 4 hour limit. She was very passionate about the art and engaged us with the moment of being near these rare and ancient art pieces. The night tour was smooth and free of large crowds. It's my understanding that during the day, the crowds are grueling. This tour is very long but full of information regarding all the art pieces in the museum. Thanks for a great tour.
I highly recommend this tour. The tour guide was extremely knowledgeable and very passionate about the subject matter surrounding the museum, especially Sistine chapel ceiling paintings and Michelangelo. This tour was longer than I thought it would be as there is so much to see in the museum well worth the money.
It was awesome seeing the Vatican at night! I'm sure it wasn't as crowded either. I am so happy I did this one.
Lovely tour and a very good guide. Loved the fact that the museums were a lot less crowded and the guide was really good, passionate about her job, and it showed. I can highly recommend this tour!
Very good tour with a thorough description of the numerous pieces of art. Quite enjoyable.
The guide was amazing, she knew everything on her fingertips. It was money very well spent. My 12-year-old daughter was also amazed by the tour. If you book only one guided tour in Rome; I highly recommend this one.
this museum is so extensive and diversified it is a must see. AT night the crowds are less and you can enjoy the visit
Amazing sights to see ! A little long if your tired from the day but so worth seeing !
