The bus was comfortable, and the guide was knowledgeable and entertaining. We were returned to a very convenient drop-off location.

The Tivoli Gardens are beautiful and the remains of Hadrian's palace are interesting. However, trying to put both places into one afternoon trip, when you add the hour-plus travelling time each way and the time wasted getting everyone to the central departure point, meant that we couldn't spend enough time at either location to really look around, relax, and enjoy.

This was a convenient way to get to Tivoli and see these villas, and the guide was a very nice man.

Bus itself could be better for such a long distance tour!

Overall the sites were great to visit, and a nice balance against each other. Adequate time to explore each. Guides were interesting and informative.

Picking up a huge amount of history makes this trip worthwhile. Cooler than Rome and within easy walking pace.

It was OK, but could have been better

I would love to say the tour was excellent, 10 out of 10, but unfortunately I cannot due to the confusion on the coach collection point, and the tour itself. I clearly stated at the time of booking and again when I re-confirmed our hotel was located in Navonna. On both occasions I was told the coach would collect us outside our hotel at 2.00pm. On Saturday the day of the tour, we were on our way outside to wait for the coach, when we were stopped by the hotel receptionist who was on the telephone speaking to the operator. The coach could not pick us up! So instead they planned to send a taxi that would take us to the central meeting place. I found this extremely annoying firstly we should have been told that hotel pick up was not possible, we would have been perfectly happy to meet the coach at the central location, had we be told at the time of booking. Secondly we arrived at the central location at 2.20pm, we then had an infuriating 40 minute wait before the coach departed. After that precarious start, I wasn't holding out much hope on the actual tour being very good. On the whole it was. We had two tour guides who were both very knowledgeable I was surprised to hear one of them speaking in Russian. The drive up to Tivoli was wonderful, and Villa d'Este breathtaking. We were lucky enough to see some of the rooms in the newly opened palace. However, there was a downside we didn't get to see Hadrians Villa. We were told by the tour guide that we could visit Hadrians Villa, however, he emphasised that in doing so it would shorten the length of time we had.

More time needed at both sites.

Our hotel pick-up drop-off was great and our guide was knowledgeable, enthusiastic and willing to answer any questions. The sites are well worth seeing. However, we felt more time was needed, at least an hour more, to fully appreciate the garden and fountains of the Villa d'Este without being rushed.

Tivoli was quite amazing and well worth seeing. However, after seeing the Roman ruins in Rome, Hadrian's Villa was more of the same. I'd skip it, especially the extremely long walk up a steep hill to get to a lot of nondescript ruins. No guide, no explanation of anything; we were just dropped off and told to be back for pickup. Speaking of guides, ours was just OK. Minimal information on Tivoli and that was given in multiple languages, so a lot of time given to those. It could have been a lot more informative.

This was a great place, but the guide was not too engaging compared to other tours.

This was a good tour. The local tour guide in Tivoli was a bit lacking, but the Villa D'Este can be enjoyed without much guidance. At Hadrian's Villa, we were left on our own to explore, and the villa ruins are not well-marked and there is little signage. However, both sites were still fascinating.
