The tour in Pompeii was excellent, but it took way too much time to make the trips in Naples for those who went to Capri. These two should have be separated in their own buses. I was very annoyed when we had to go back to Naples after walking two hours in Pompeii. All I wanted was to get right back to Rome. It just took too much time.

Our guides were great. The only drawback is the stop at a coral "factory" - I know the other people on the tour felt the same way.

Thoroughly enjoyed the trip; it well organised and very smooth, and we had an excellent guide around Pompeii. Lunch, however, was a little disappointing.

Excellent service. Friendly staff. The only downside was the longish wait in the coach for the people coming from the boat from Capri. Maybe better to separate the two tours in the future. Still, it was worth it, and thanks for everything.

Viator does a wonderful job setting up their tours. This was just one tour that we booked thru them. Everything was on time and there were no surprises. From now on all of my trips will probably include Viator. We enjoyed our trip to Naples and Pompeii. Our guides were fantastic. Our only regret is we didn't have enough time in Pompeii. If you are really interested in Pompeii, I would recommend a tour that only does Pompeii.

This is an interesting day visit from Rome with an opportunity to understand early civilizations in Pompeii and to appreciate the natural disasters. We had an excellent guide who was exceptionally well-informed.

This was brilliant. I really enjoyed this tour. However, it has been said to me that it's better to go to Naples and do a Pompeii tour from there, which cuts out on the time on the bus.

The tour was very interesting and Pompeii was definitely very excellent. The only complaint that I have is that there is not enough time spent in Pompeii. We were there for two hours and didn't even get to view half of Pompeii. We wished that we could have had more time to view all the sites.

Before we went, we read a lot of reviews, mostly American, complaining about the food and the length of time at the cameo factory. We didn't go for the food, we went for the experience. Admittedly the lunch wasn't great, but so what? The whole trip was a great day out, and Pompeii is definitely worth the early start. If you don't want to take part in the whole experience, make your own way there. I'm sure you enjoy the hassle as much as just getting up in the morning, getting on the coach, and letting the guides do everything for you. We had a smashing day from start to finish and enjoyed meeting other travelers. We really, really enjoyed Pompeii. The cameo factory was a lovely little interlude that adds to the day, and didn't detract in any way. The guide showing us around Pompeii knew his stuff, and helped with the overall experience. It is definitely worth doing if you have a day to spare on your visit to Rome. We did, and we were very glad we did this trip.

Pompeii tour was amazing!! I did not really see a point to the cameo place and we seemed to have spent too long there. The rest of the trip was great. I liked the drive through of Naples and the guide was wonderful!!

The bus ride was long, Naples had lots of trash, but Pompeii was better than expected, definitely worth doing.

Had mixed views when we read the reviews before we booked this trip. However we had a great day. Yes it is a long day, yes you do only get two hours or so to look at the ruins, but it is well worth it. Not sure how interesting it is for kids being such a long day, but the views of Vesuvius and the extremely knowledgeable guide made for a very good trip.

Would have liked to spend more time in Naples, as we did not see very much. We really enjoyed Pompeii.

The only reason they include Naples on this trip is to drop of some people that would go to Capri. Naples is not a tourist spot that I would go, as there is almost no history and not much to look at. Pompeii was very interesting. The lunch was so-so; we ate at a hole in the wall restaurant with servers who did not speak English. They offered spaghetti with sauce only, and we did not know if that was the only food we would get, we even had trouble asking for cheese as they did not understand. As it turned out, they offered us a slice of turkey later, and a bowl of unpeeled mandarin oranges, which looked like they picked it off the back yard. The drinks were separate, so we had to pay for the drinks.
