Best way to see these sights I think in retrospect is via a guided tour. Our tour guides were very friendly, cheerful and informative, the day was long but it was made very enjoyable due to the effort made by the tour guides themselves.
The three hour bus ride just flew by as our guide gave us a history lesson certainly never told in our schools.
There was plenty of time to soak up the feel for Pompeii. All manor of questions asked and answered.
Then Mount Vesuvius, the view from the top over Naples, how lucky were they that fateful day. Awesome!
This was a great tour. The tour guides were very knowledgeable. I just wish we had a little bit more time to spend at the museum. The food in Naples was OK.
Great hike up the mountain, need to be fit if you want to get to the 3rd gift shop.
The ruins show how advanced they where.
So well organised. Comfortable coach and great guides. It was a long day so to have the arrangements taken care of before we set off just ensures a successful day. We thought about taking the train but we would have missed all the interesting information given en route. Another fabulous trip to remember.
Excellent experience and very good tour guides especially Sara. Weather conditions were bad and we could not hike vesuvius but the archaeological museum was a good alternative.
Massimo and Stephanie were wonderful guides. They were very knowledgable, professional, funny, friendly, and accommodating. We will definitely ask for them by name when booking future tours to ensure we get the best guides.
We both enjoyed this tour. Both Sara and Elena were excellent guides. Early am start but well worth it. Beautiful views Mt Vesuvius and Pompeii very interesting.
Wow, what a fantastic day! Although a long day it didn't feel like it as there was plenty of time to rest on the coach. Our driver reported a problem with the vehicle and stopped to check it a few times. It was decided to swap over vehicles at some point, which was done when we were looking at Pompeii. The driver took time to remove any belongings that people had left on board and these where handed back on the new coach and drivers also swapped. Our original driver met up with us later to check that we were all happy, he had been very worried about the disruption. We also had to switch our days itinerary around, so did Pompeii in the morning and Vesuvius in the afternoon, this meant our guides for Pompeii being changed to one instead of 2. However, this did not effect our tour at all. The replacement guide was so full of information and all delivered with humour, he was fantastic!
The delay in changing vehicles meant that we were late to the base of Vesuvius, but guide, Massimo played his charm and got us in! Amazing climb up to the top of the crater, you need to be fit for this one!
Our two guides, Lucia and Massimo were far beyond our expectations, I have no idea how they could improve. They gave so much throughout the day and went beyond out tour itinerary to give advice on all things Rome! The depth of their knowledge was outstanding, I would, if I could hire them to be personal guides if this where possible, I cannot rate them highly enough! I would come back to this tour company again, just in the hope of getting these two guides again, a fantastic advert for your company, keep them!
This tour is a must. Our two tour guides Louisa and Gio had so much fantastic and thoughtful information to share with all of us. They were brilliant. We thoroughly enjoyed our day in Pompeii and will do it again when next we return.
A fun and informative tour. Our guide was very knowledgeable. I would do it all over again!
My tour to pompeii was an amazing experience ..the tour guides were very knowledgeable and the bus ride was very enjoyable..Not only do I recommend it but I would do it again myself.
This is a long day but our guides made it both enjoyable and educational. They were funny, friendly and informative. The climb up Mt Versuvius is not for the faint hearted but even the oldest of us did manage it and can say we have seen into the crater of an active volcano. Pompeii was of course wonderful. The coach was extremely comfortable which allowed many on the tour to catch up on some sleep. I have no hesitation in recommending this tour.
