This trip was amazing. It was well worth the money.
The tour guides were very informative and very helpful. Being in Pompeii was a great experience- the local tour guide was outstanding and she explained everything in great detail. Although climbing mount Vesuvius was tough (at times) it was well worth it! The view was breathtaking. I would highly recommend this tour.
Fantastic, the best part of our holiday in Italy, a must see. The tour guide was great, I can't recommend this trip enough.

Fantastic day. Lunch was lovely and the information given by the guides was informative and interesting. Could of done with more time to get to the summit of Mt Versuvius, was quite a lot for the older member of the party in a short time frame.
We had a fabulous trip! Comfortable bus transport on larger bus than expected as we were 2 groups together. There was a "comfort" stop en route, although the number of people using the facilities at the stop limited access to drinks, food and souvenir shopping. Our two guides were like a comedy act at times, but imparted a lot of knowledge about Vesuvius, Pompeii and Rome. There was cloud around Vesuvius that day, but the magnitude of the site was not hidden. You are expected to walk up to the rim area within 20-25 minutes, which limits the time you have to take in the views when you are expected back at the base to meet the bus within an hour. We were lucky to have an additional 15 minutes and got lots of photos. Although people were walking in sandals and flip flops, shoes are advised as the path is loose chips and pumice. You can opt to use wooden poles to help you up and down the steep walk, for a donation. The tour guide does not come up with you, but there appear to be rangers who are able to give information. Lunch is simple but filling. Pompeii is amazing! The reclamation is massive and the local guide was funny and informative. Take water with you when you walk around the site with the guide, especially in warm weather and since you only have one drink with lunch - we missed that trick and had to buy lots of drinks when we got back to the entrance! Shoppers beware....there is no time to do any! (See the smiling face of my husband?) Which is a shame considering the length of the bus journey to and from Rome, but I am sure the approachable and flexible guides could let you shop for 5 more minutes if you ask.
The tour was excellent. Pompeii was amazing, the walk up Mt Vesuvius challenging but well worth. The guide was great, she went over and above expectactions. Thank you for all your tips.
We had an great day .I can recommend this tour. The sights are amazing and our courier Robert answered all our questions. He was very entertaining also on the journey and took very good care of us. I would book this tour again as there was so much to see. we had a very enjoyable day.
Diana and Anna were so knowledgeable and were also great to give us a lot of advice on Italy as a whole and sights and etiquette in Rome. It's a long day trip but well worth it. Vincenzo was our guide at Pompeii whose knowledgeable is incredible, he kept things short and to the point and didn't elaborate or bore us with details that weren't necessary or interesting. Mt. Vesuvius was a great sight to see too. This trip is definitely worth it if you have a day to spare and don't mind getting up too early!
If we could rate this tour conducted by Dark Rome a 10 star we would. This was such an amazing experience and trip. Pompeii and Mt Vesuvius were part of our top experiences while being in Italy. The magnitude of Pompeii, the history and the ruins was something we not ever forget. The dual tour guides on this trip were fantastic! We highly recommend booking this trip.
What an amazing day! We loved everything about this tour! We had great guides, both on the bus and at Pompeii. We didn't feel rushed to see the ruins, and then we got to go to the top of Mt. Vesuvius on a hike! In between, we went to a restaurant for a pizza lunch. On the way back to Rome, the guides entertained us with factual information about Rome and even came through the bus and talked to us individually about questions we had about other tours or things to see and do in Rome. I really loved the personal touch. I am so glad that we took this tour. It was one of the highlights of our time in Italy.
Fantastic tour. Went on several tours for this trip, and this was by far the best one. The best guide I've had yet. Highly recommended.
Another fantastic experience! guides Diana (aka Pinky, aka La Regina di Roma) and Gio (aka The Brain) were terrific...funny, informative, well organized. Enrico as our Pompeii guide was equally fine, drolly amusing, and gave a real sense of what had happened. Highly recommended.
Fantastic tour. Got to see quite a lot of Pompeii and very comfortable bus. Highly recommended
SUPER! We had a wonderful trip and two guides (two groups) that were extremely accomodating and worked very hard to give us a great tour even after the weather turned and scrubbed our plans to walk to Vesuvius. Their hard work resulted in our tour coming safely down the mountain and getting to the National Museum for an adequate tour of the museum. It was a great solution to a disappointed group who were taken to the top of the mountain only to be told the weather was uncooperative. The lunch was great, too! One negative: the stops for bathroom/food were a bit rushed since we couldn't bring food on the bus, it was difficult to wait in potty line, get in food line, then eat quickly and no time for shopping in the store. No big deal, but felt rushed.
