Segways are the BEST way to tour large areas! My daughter and I had a great time touring Villa Borghese with Uberto, and recommend this tour highly...now wish we'd have had time for the Rome at Night tour!
Umberto, our guide, was knowledgeable and friendly. Touring Villa Borghese on segway allowed us to cover the whole green heart swiftly and attracted a lot of jealous stares from passer-bys! Highly recommended.
EXCELLENT, BUT HE ENDED THE TOUR 15 MINUTES EARLY. otherwise I WAS VERY HAPPY WITH THE EXPERIENCE.
Great tour of the Villa Borghese park grounds. Even though we had walked through part of it on previous visits we saw things that we had missed before like the seahorses. Uberto was a great and patient guide. Our tour was on a beautiful November Saturday afternoon and we were lucky to have Uberto to ourselves.
We really enjoyed our Segway tour with Uberto. The segways were great fun and Uberto was very knowledgeable. Thank you also Uberto for recommending Lucifero for dinner - we went and loved it!
The tour was the only way to go through the Villa Borghese. We were able to cover every inch with ease. Our Roman guide Uberto from the tour operator was very knowledgeable and fun. I would highly recommend this tour and if you have concerns about never being on a segway, dont worry they are extremely easy to operate.
Uberto was a terrific guide
Segway is the way to go
Significant coverage of the garden and excellent information along the way
Friendly, professional and knowledgeable
Uberto is a fantastic tour guide. He made us feel comfortable using the Segway, then proceeded to take us on a very fun, interesting, and informative tour of Villa Borghese. The experience couldn't have been any better and left us as huge fans of both Uberto and the Segway. Would do it again and would HIGHLY recommend this tour (and especially Uberto) to anyone who might consider it.
I ended up being the only one on the tour. But, it was great! The park is so beautiful and Uberto was so knowledgable. I would highly recommend this tour.
This tour was deffnetly the best!!!! I recomend it to everyone... its different and a rlly cool trip!!! Thanks.
We very much enjoyed our private tour with Uberto on the Segway Tours in the gardens of the Villa Borghese. It was our last day in Rome after an exhausting 30 day whirlwind tour of Italy. At ages 68 and 70 we were a bit hesitant about trying our luck on the Segways. But Uberto proved to be an excellent instructor, and was very patient with me as I had to stop to sit and rest about every 30-40 mins. It was raining a bit and we wore our ponchos but barely got damp, and it was wonderful having the park nearly to ourselves on a rainy Monday. We never could have seen this lovely place up close and personal without the help of the Segways which proved to be easy to use and fun as well. We can hardly wait to take another Segway tour.
The Villa Borghese is a must see for any visitor and one of the cleaner and safer public places in Rome. However, it could take a good part of a day to visit it, unless you're on a Segway. We zoomed the park in the span of an early evening, and enjoyed the information deciminated by our guide, Uberto. This is a must do tour, if only to escape urban face of Rome.
Best view of Rome.
What an absolutely brilliant trip. We visited the Colosseum at night, we toured the Vatican Museums, the Pantheon and walked all around Rome but the Segway through Villa Borghese gardens easily ranks as good as, if not better, than them.
This was a real highlight of our trip and Uberto, our tour guide, was great at telling us about the history not just of the gardens but also Rome itself.
Do yourself a favour and skip the main 'historical Rome' Segway trips - you will see all that anyway, and the history is right there front and centre, in the guidebooks, on placards/posters and descriptions against all the various monuments (or even just search online when you get there).
Villa Borghese is somewhere that most people coming to Rome will miss or barely glance at but it too is steeped in history, and whizzing around on the Segway not only gives your legs a bit of a rest from walking but it makes for a great way to see so much.
Halfway round, you stop for a cooling drink and a nice chat with the guide.
What's more, Uberto tops the whole tour off with the grande finale, what must be simply the best panoramic view of the entire city of Rome and Vatican City... climb the dome of St Peter's Basilica, or get to the top of the Palantine Hill and you end up missing part of the picture - go to Villa Borghese's stunning viewpoint and you get to take it ALL in.
Aside from the ice-cream, this is the best experience going in Rome. A brilliant way to get away from the hustle and bustle of the centre and at half the price of the other Segway routes, an absolute bargain if all you want is to try to ride a Segway (which is A LOT easier than learning to ride a bike... I'm not even sure it's physically possible to fall off!)
