What You Can Expect

Rome Segway Tour

See Ancient Rome by Segway!

Meet your friendly guide and start with an orientation session to get familiar with your two-wheeled, electric, self-balancing Segway. Once you feel comfortable, you’ll follow your guide into the downtown streets of Rome.

Glide toward the area known as Capitoline Hill, and as you approach it you’ll be met with the jaw-dropping sights of Ancient Rome. Once the home of richly elaborate temples, shops, markets and government buildings, the area is now a fascinating archeological site peppered with 2,000-year-old world-famous ruins.

Head right up to it and weave around the outskirts of the Roman Forum, seeing grandiose monuments like the Arch of Constantine and Trajan’s Column. Hear the history of the site in its heyday from your audio commentary, learning about its status as the administrative center of Rome.

Pass Palentine Hill and stop for a look at Circus Maximus, the vast stretch of flat land where chariot races were once held to entertain up to 250,000 locals. Continue to the Colosseum, Rome’s iconic monument on the east side of Ancient Rome, and stop for photos while listening to commentary about the gory, yet glorified, gladiator battles that once took place inside.

After weaving through the crowds outside the ruins, take back to the streets and head to the Church of Santa Maria to see the Mouth of Truth – an intriguing marble slab. Featured in the hit 1950’s movie Roman Holiday, the ancient manhole cover is said to be a lie detector.

As you wind your way back toward the center of Rome, stop at a scenic vantage point to enjoy picture-perfect views over the city. Your tour then finishes back at the start point.

I would like to add that after we completed this tour, we booked another evening tour a few weeks later.

Always an exciting way to see a city. We were particularly impresses with Alessandro, especially when one member of our group fell off and hurt himself badly, Alessandre was calm and reassuring and evidently spent the day with the person at the hospital to help out if needed. The other two leaders split the rest of the group and carried on with the tours in a professional manner and despite the unfortunate event, really made us feel relaxed so we could enjoy the tour. Excellent guide in Paolo. Well done all xx

SO MUCH FUN!! Our party of 7 loved it and our tour guide, Gulianna Julie was wonderful - funny, knowledgable and VERY patient as we had teenagers and grandparents on our party. The tour itself was really great - and we all enjoyed getting by the hoards of people - especially at the Coliseum. We saw some great sights and had a great history lesson too. Would highly recommend.

This was awesome! Don't walk when you can have a tour with Matt and Barbie on a Segway, while everyone else climbs on foot around the city!

We loved our Segway tour! It was the highlight of the trip for my husband. Matt our guide was amazing! There was only one other couple with us. It actually rained for 45 minutes in the middle of our tour and we still had a fantastic time. Matt was so gracious and took so many photos of us we really appreciated it. Don't miss this tour! Don't think it's hard to do. We're both senior citizens and we had it down pat in less than 10 minutes. Everyone there is so patient and helpful.
