If you see the pictures then it is 3 times the size in real life and ever thing is 2000-3000 years old and the buildings should not have been of this quality during this period!
This was a great tour to take, especially for my first time visiting Rome as we saw a ton of stuff in just one afternoon. Mariella was our tour guide for the morning portion (Colosseum, Roman Forum, etc.) and true to previous reviews, she was amazing! She gave us so much information and history, her enthusiasm for the topics was contagious. In the afternoon, we were shown around many of the piazzas by Marina. She was a wonderful tour guide as well, she kept us laughing and also provided a lot of historical information as well. I would definitely recommend this tour, particularly for those visiting Rome for the first time.
This is a fabulous tour. Our morning guide Nicholas was a joy to behold. (George Clooney lookalike!) His knowledge and delivery of the tour was excellent. Myself and my husband were both highly impressed. We had a very mixed group, with all ages and he catered well to all. In the afternoon our guide was Francesca, we didn't think we would be lucky enough to get another excellent guide but we did. Francesca guided us through the streets of Rome passing on her extensive knowledge in a most relaxed atmosphere. You can wander around on your own and see the majority of what we saw on the tour but there is not a guide book written that is as good as either of our guides for this tour. Whenever we return to Rome we will use this company again. We highly recommend this tour and many thanks again to our wonderful tour guides for a most memorable experience.
The morning section of this tour was fantastic. We had such an enthusiastic guide for the tours of the colosseum and the forum. It was great!
The afternoon walking tour of the Spanish steps, Trevi fountain and the squares was a bit of stretch. There was definitely not enough content to justify a 4 hours walking tour. It was okay but I would recommend other people to only do the morning tours because you can easily do the attractions covered in the afternoon tour on your own with a map.
This tour is awesome...but exhausting. We ended up not feeling well after the first one and rescheduling the second tour for a later day (with a fee, but it was worth it! Best $40 nap ever.) We had Tatiana as our tour guide who is super patient, and super knowledgable. Massimo was our guide for the second half and it ended up being a very small tour - just four people including us. One of the highlights of our trip...and gave us a really great overview/lay of the land of Rome.
We couldn't have asked for better tour guides. Well worth doing
We had Nickolo in the morning and Francesca in the afternoon. They were both great and entertaining. Definitely worth it.
Both tour guides (one for the morning and Damiano for the afternoon) were very informative, knew their history and were fluent in English. Highly recommended. Skipping the lines was very important.at the Colosseum.
Given the heat and horrendous crowds this was a great tour. Maria demonstrated superb knowledge and patience in navigating the group around the thronging ancient sites. Without a guided tour much of the sites would remain a pile of rubble but she animated the places and the people who occupied them and really created for us a vivid picture of the glories of Ancient Rome. the afternoon tour was enthusiastically led by the vibrant Nina who shared her love of Rome by leading us to the great highlights of the Pantheon, Trajen's column, The Spanish Steps, The Trevi Fountain and much more. We did this at the end of our time in Rome and wished we had begun with it. On all of our tours in Rome we found the guides to be highly professional and superbly qualified. We were really enriched by all of the tours and can only imagine what we would have missed if we had attempted it all on our own.
As we only had a short time we opted to do this tour and it while it was a very long day, it was excellent. The short siesta between the morning and afternoon was most welcome. The contrast between Ancient Rome in the morning and Baroque Rome in the afternoon was extraordinary and both guides were entertaining and knowledgeable - a truly excellent experience.
