Both tours were well worth the money. There is so much to see as a first time visitor to the Colosseum that I wouldn't have known about without the guide. The afternoon tour gave me a sense of the City--too bad the Spanish Steps were under construction :- Be sure to bring sharp elbows if you want to get close to the Trevi fountain--it is mobbed!
Loved this tour! Our guides, Ettore and GG were fabulous! Both were knowledgeable and personable and showed us the best parts of Rome and the Colosseum. You must do this tour!
This was a great tour! Very informative and our tour guide Fabrizio was knowledgable and fun. Next time I might do these two tours in two separate days. It was a lot for one day but we definitely saw all the sights of Rome and learned a lot about Roman history.
This tour was amazing. The guide was excellent and really knew his history and told some interesting stories. The colloseum did not dissapoint nor did the Forum. A great day but do wear comfy shoes and take water. The afternoon took in the Trevi fountain but the highlight was the Pantheon.
Fantastic tour. Tour company was professional, had colored flags to find your guide. Very knowledgable. Would recommend this group to anyone traveling to Rome. Lines are very long, it's worth it to have a guide take you through the sites and explain everything to you.
A great guide who told us so much information and made the day incredibly special.
My mother and I loved this tour. It was very easy to find the meetup location for the tour. I was originally concerned about that so I forced my mother to leave the hotel much earlier then needed. Claudia was our tour guide and she was amazing. What a wealth of information! I would never have thought that our guide would be not only an archaeologist but also have a PhD in Ancient Rome. Holy smokes! I definitely left this tour happy with my choice! I would do it again!
We were very pleased with our tour. Both guides were interesting, knowledgeable and entertaining. The audio headsets were great.
Be sure to wear comfortable walking shoes or you will regret it as there is a lot of walking.
We learned so much and fell in love with Rome!
I and #39;m am so pleased we took the tour as doing it by yourself unless you know alot about history. You would miss out on so much information. Our tour guide Alexandra.was amazing...she created a mental picture in your mind. Wonderful!!!
We had El Torrido for our morning col. tour I kind of forgot what his name was as our guide and he was amazingly awesome. Absolutely humorous, walked at a speed that was fast enough for most but slow enough for us to take photos at, was well detailed when introducing the col. and the roman forum and palatine hill
Very knowledgeable and interesting guides. Giakomo for the morning tour of imperial Rome and Vasco for the Rome piazzas tour in the afternoon.
Sara the archeologist, was truely amazing. She was so informative and keep us well informed on every little detail. Very impressed with what we heard.
The skip-the-line tour of the colesseum led by Sarafina was fascinating. We saved hours by skipping the line and heading directly inside, and Sarafina had in-depth knowledge of how the building was constructed and used over time. She made history come alive for us. The headphones allowed us to hear everything she had to say. She was engaging and knowledgeable and interesting, and was able to answer our questions. She also took us to The Forum and Palatine Hill, and had insight into those ruins as well. She made suggestions about other things to see in the area after the tour. The afternoon tour led by Stella was also wonderful, and we toured the Spanish Steps, Trevi Fountain, the Pantheon, and other saw beautiful works of art, architecture, and capped off the day with gelatto in a beautiful piazza. There was a nice break in between the two tours, with time to rest and have lunch, so while it was a full day of touring, it was an amazing day filled with beauty and fascinating history. We would highly recommend this tour! It was well worth the money to learn about the wonders we were seeing, rather than trying to do it on our own.
Absolutely wonderful guide who kept us all together and her knowledge was amazing. This tour is a must because you will learn so much more and obviously no queueing for hours! Very impressive how the tour guide managed to keep 26 of us together, they really have it sussed and all the organisation was very impressive.
I can highly recommend booking with Viator. We had a fantastic morning tour with our guide Giuseppe at the Colosseum, he was so informative and clear. The same can be said for our afternoon walking tour with Vincente. It was our first tour on a 4 day break in Rome and I am so pleased I booked beforehand as it totally removed the hassle of ticket organising and queuing

Our guide, Claudia has a PhD and has also participated in a couple of the 'digs' at the Colosseum. She was EXCELLENT!!! I can't speak more highly of her and her knowledge. I am so glad we booked this tour!!! City Wonders, who handles this on the Rome end did a wonderful job.
Our afternoon tour was 'ok', the guide, Maura, was certainly nice enough but it was something my husband and I could have done w/o a guide. The pkg. though worked out well.
Our tour guide Massimo, before taking us to the Coliseum, gave us a 20 minute in depth story of what the Coliseum is and how it came to be. So glad he did. As a history buff, I greatly enjoyed all the background information!! Excellent story telling style! The 3 afternoon walking tour is worth while as well, walk through the city with a tour guide and hit all the important piazza's in Rome with the history behind it.
