The walking tour was brief but good - and that was handy because we just wanted to get to the cooking! Mostly it's just making pasta, but it's lots of fun (especially for families) and you get to eat great food (and drinks lots of wine) when you're done!
Fantastic.......booked it for my wife as a surprise trip for our wedding anniversary. Glad to say she ( and I ) loved it. The tour was lovely but the cookery lesson and meal with Fernando at 'That's Amore' was amazing. Definately recommend this package.........so good we bought a pasta machine today to make our own fresh pasta at home now A+++++
Walking was hard because of the temp but other than that it was a good tour. We loved the cooking class. Took several pictures. Instructor was great and we meet Fabeo. It was his resturant where we had the cooking class. I would love to do it again with other foods.
What a fantastic experience this was, taught by an Italian chef to make 6 different types of pasta from scratch, including ravioli. All followed up with Tiramisu, coffee, wine and limoncello. The tour started at 11.30am and we left the restaurant at 4.30pm. Such a good day and we met some lovely new friends from around the world.
Amazing experience. Fun and interesting. Great teachers and classmates. Loved this class.
While the walking tour was nice (our guide was very informative; she arrived a little late but the ladies in charge of the tour stayed with us until she came), the cooking class is what makes this adventure so wonderful. It was just my mom and I at the class that day, so it was a very intimate, fun experience. The owner helped us make three kinds of pasta from two different kinds of dough (water and egg based). Just ask him for the quantities of ingredients and you'll be prepared to make the pastas at home (albeit considerably slower than it was with his help!). People who were eating in the restaurant actually wandered over to our table to watch. Once we'd made our pasta, it was taken back to the kitchen where they made the sauces. Our menu was: linguine with broccoli, squid, and some sort of olive oil sauce; cavatelli with fresh tomatoes, capers, basil, and black olives; and zucchini/ricotta stuffed ravioli with a sage butter parmesan sauce. It was all absolutely delicious, and they even gave us each a dessert of our choice. I would definitely recommend this to anyone who wants to not only enjoy, but also to take a part in the creation of, amazing Italian food.
SO MUCH FUN!!! My daughter and I signed up for the walking tour and cooking class. The cooking class was great and we enjoyed eating our homemade pasta! HIGHLY RECOMMEND! Dr. Sally Baerman
still very hard to understand the guide but the cooking class made up for it. it was excellent. would recommend it to everyone.
It was a great tour and cooking class! My husband was so negative about this idea, but in the end he was so pleased. Very nice restaurant with friendly cooking coaches. Highly recommended!
The walking tour was very informative and enjoyed the morning. The cooking class was a highlight of the trip made pasta for lunch recommend this tour to anyone looking for a great experience.
Interesting and informative tour, The pasta making was great fun and the resulting lunch excellent, Highly recommended
The walking tour was informative and very enjoyable. The highlight of the trip was the practically private cooking lesson. Our group only consisted of 4 people. Everyone at Thats Amore was incredible, the food was fantastic, a one of a kind experience to make pasta in Italy.
Food was delicious and tour was very interesting. Make sure you know your way back, after the cooking class they leave you stranded.
All I can say is DO THIS. The walking tour guide was amazing...she even took us to a different church because we had a french couple with us. Our teacher was PERFECT and he really taught us how to make ravioli and cavatelli and then we got to eat what we made. He was delightful. We went back for dinner a few nights later and were welcomed like family. TAKE THIS TOUR!!!
such a great experience! Just did this with 3 of my friends. Definitely a must do while in Rome. The tour was informative and not overwhelming and the cooking class was great. We prepared homemade pasta with the help of the owner Ferdinando (who was extremely helpful and nice) and they put the finished product together for us. Everything was delicious and the service was great.
I am giving this 5 stars because the cooking class was so awesome! The tour was not that great as the guide kept switching between English and German, which after awhile became confusing. But, once I left the tour, I had the best time of my life cooking. The restaurant was called That's Amore and the chef and his staff were so nice. I happened to be the only person in the class since it was not tourist season, so I was thrilled to receive private instruction. But, when tourist season is in, the classes are full. This is an experience I will always remember and I immediately began cooking and applying what I learned when I got home. Perfect way to spend the morning in Rome!!!
Really great. The walking tour was very good but the cooking at That's Amour was Fantastic. I've been home for a few days and already made several dishes based on what I learned there.
The cooking class was a highight of our Rome vacation. It was fun and interesting for all and we learned a lot. We enjoyed the instructors' wit and charm and the meal was excellent.
The walking tour was pretty good as a prelude but the cooking was terrific.
Well informative tour in central Rome but the cooking class was the definite highlight for me and my family. Made our own lunch (cavatelli and ravioli) and had a ball. Tasted great too! The host made the whole experience wonderful.
The walking tour was relaxed and very informative. Well worth doing, we had previously walked this route and missed so much. The cooking class was a sheer joy. We were made to feel so welcome, and the teaching was relaxed, informal and incredibly enjoyable. Thank you Fernando and all at That's Amore, our lunch was excelent.
