I have taken numerous tours with Viator previously and did not enjoy this one. With the exception of dinner, which was excellent, the rest of the tour was a wash. The guide did not speak very good English, she lost a number of tourists along the way and had to go back in search of them, leaving the rest of us waiting outside in the cold. She returned a good 10 to 15 minutes later and took us into the restaurant, which we had been standing outside of without even knowing. She could have left is in the restaurant where it was warm. The guide did not seem overly knowledgeable and I felt that apart from getting us to the Trevi Fountain, which I could have done on my own, it was a waste of time and money.
Despite phoning to arrange for the pick-up at the hotel and being at the hotel reception on time, we had to phone again when the bus still hadn't arrived 20 minutes later. In the end, a taxi was sent to pick us up to join the tour at the restaurant. Food at the restaurant was disappointing. I'm sure the restaurant does much better food but the menu available for the tour was not great. We found that our English language tour was actually four of us in with a mixture of other languages. Meant, that we had to wait about whilst the tour guide explained everything in a number of languages. Walking tour was the best bit of the evening but this is not a tour I would recommend.
This was our first night in Rome. Just enough time to get showered and dressed and then we were picked up at out hotel. Being off season and in the middle of winter the tour was not full by any means. Only 8 of us but that made for a lovely evening. Dinner was delicious in a wonderful little restaurant tucked away just 30 steps or so from the Trevi Fountain. Our guide was delightful and the walking tour before and after dinner ticked all the boxes. It was a wonderful way to start our adventures in Rome.
S and D
Started late, finished extremely late. Didn't get to eat a minimalistic and very ordinary meal until midnight. Not fun or interesting. Not well organised.
The tour was interesting and very informative. The guide was excellent and had lots of insights on Rome. The dinner was quite nice and the evening very pleasurable. Nice introduction to Rome and perfect opportunity to see the magnificence of this eternal city lit up at night.
Great tour. Little too much walking on return side. Excellent local restaurant near Trevi Fountain
although it was a rainy night, it was great. The fountain of Trevi was magnificent. l would be back again sometime in summer
The tour was very nice. Unfortunately it was raining so we spent a lot of time in the bus. The dinner was great and the sites we did see while walking were wonderful.
Even though it was raining, the tour guide adjusted the events and night was great.
This tour went to some fantastic places. The dinner was outstanding. We went to this little restaurant tucked away on a side street that I never would have found. On the tour we did, the guide could have been better. It was supposed to be an English tour and she had to do both Spanish and English. Our guide was the only negative.
Dinner was good, viewing the Trevi fountain at night was outstanding, we had been there during the day, but at night was great. Then everything went downhill from there, we drove by the Colosseum , then we drove by the Vatican, and then went to the heart of Rome's night life. We walked around for about I hour watching all the young people talk, drink, and dance in the street. Back on the bus to be drop off at our hotel, wrong, we had to walk about 10 blocks at 11PM. not aq very nice trip,
