A not-to-be-missed experience. Worth every penny.
We liked the fact that we were not in a large group and were able to explore on our own. The guide got us to and from Pompeii with any trouble.
Enter your review here.We were a group of eight looking for a quick and affordable way to see Pompeii from Rome. The bus ride was very comfortable and we were given 4.5 hours to see Pompeii. This is a much better way to travel than taking the train and the price was reasonable. Once at Pompeii, skip the guides and follow the written guide you are given with your entry tickets. Also, the snack bar inside the ruins has good food that is not expensive. Overall, it was a great day.
Great trip, just what we were looking for! The office was quite easy to find and we left promptly in the morning. The bus trip to Pompeii was excellent too, the coach was clean and airconditioned. We found that the time at Pompeii was definitely sufficient and appreciated being able to stroll around at our own pace rather than in a tour. I would definitely recommend this tour.
This was exactly what we wanted as we were traveling with two young children and were not interested in a large tour group. Highly recommend to anyone not wanting the hassle of taking the train or hiring a car.
Pompeii is an amazing place. This one day trip is a safe and comfortable way to get there and back. Once you are there, I would recommend you pay for a guided tour. It is overwhelming and hard to see the best of it without a knowledgeable guide. I did the audio guide, which didn't get me through enough before my time was up. Just when it was getting really good; it was time to return to the bus. If I ever return to Pompeii, I will pay a guide and ask to see the best of the it.
Perfect! Just a simple bus ride to where I wanted to go and a ride home, with a stop in between each way to stretch and get a snack, if you want to see Pompeii on your own, this was great. Everyone was friendly and helpful and right on time
While it's supposedly easy to navigate the train system in Italy and make your own way from Rome to Naples and then onto another train to Pompeii, nothing is ever as easy as enthusiasts make it out to be. We are not novices to the trains. We went from Rome to Florence by train on our own and had no real problems, once we realized that the train to Florence will say it's going to Milan because that's the last stop. Would it kill them to list the FIRST stop? One gathers so. Anyway, if you'd rather focus your energy on exploring all of Pompeii instead of figuring out the Italian train system and the necessary connections to and back in Naples, this tour is for you! We got 4.5 hours in Pompeii on our own which is what we wanted. I won't bother talking about the tour guide because there is essentially no tour guide. Yes, there's someone on the bus who rides along with you, but she has nothing to say and makes no bones about it. She will, however, try to sell you Pompeii books for 16 euros though. That's a lot for a book.
Excellent service from Viator and attentive staff. Of course Pompei was amazing and a life long dream come true.
Tour was exactly what we were after. The coach trip was comfortable, and the time at Pompei was just right. We had almost 4 hours to tour the site, any less would not be long enough. The right choice if you want to maximise your time at the site on a day trip from Rome.
My wife and I thoroughly recommend this shuttle bus trip to Pompeii. Clear directions made it easy to locate the departure point (a short walk from the central station) and the tour organisers are extremely friendly. The bus is new and of a high quality. You can easily decide to use a tour guide operator when at the actual ruins, however we decided against this and felt that we didn't miss much - but that's a personal choice. The trip home (which normally takes 3-3.5 hours) ended up taking 5+ hours as a result of heavy traffic on the highway. However - the bus driver took a 'scenic' route in order to try and escape the traffic and as a result we saw some amazing country views of Italy - that's the type of quick thinking which made us give this the full five stars! PS: don't arrange to take this trip if you have an evening flight as traffic on the highway just might result in your missing it!
excellent trip for my boys - ages 10 and 7. comfortable bus for this 3 hour each way trip. So much better than taking a train.
The only way to get to Pompeii and get a decent amount of time (between 3-4hrs) to see some of the many things that are there. Thanks.
Great trip no problems with the transport, comfortable and clean bus.
Our trip was exactly what we wanted - a nice comfortable bus ride to and from Pompeii. We had four hours to roam around the ruins which was plenty of time. It was about a 2 1/2 to 3 hr. ride. They stopped at a rest stop after 1 1/2 hours. It was your typical rest stop with food and facilities. Every thing went smoothly. We would recommend it.
