This was an excellent trip - the bus was comfortable, the "comfort stop" provided adequate, and the information sufficient. An excellent option for those who prefer the comfort of being taken to a location, and the opportunity of then planning their own sight-seeing while there
Exactly what was promised --- a van ride from central Rome to the front gate of Pompeii. The van was on schedule and otherwise perfectly satisfactory. I would recommend it if you are interested in seeing yourself around rather than going with a tour guide.
100% excellent! We accidentally missed our bus due to a miss understanding of the information, we went down to the office at around 8:15am, they were very understanding and rescheduled our trip. On the day of the trip the bus was punctual, it was comfortable and air conditioned. The guide pointed out a few landmarks as we drove down. the time we had in Pompeii was plentiful, on the way back the motorway was closed, the guide explained this to us and explained we would be slightly delayed. The views along the coast were stunning so the alternative route was not a problem. In the end we were only around 40 minutes later than planned. It was worth the money, we had toilet stops, i would certainly recommend this trip.
This tour was perfect for us as we had limited time in Rome. We were travelling with our 3 children so this tour enabled us to travel from Rome to Pompeii in one day hassle free. Once at Pompeii, we had the flexibility to hire our own guide for a couple of hours and still had time to explore the sight independently, without being locked into a ridged tour schedule, which can be difficult with young children. This was a long day but worth it.
Very enjoyable. The trip was everything that we expected.
As a group of 4 adults we found this day trip to be very good. The guide on the bus, Fabio, who was a young student studying archeology was very informative. We had a lovely chat with him on the way home regarding Pompeii and his studies. You do need to pay for the entrance into Pompeii and there is no cafe, etc once you enter. There are toilets near the ticket booth and outside in the car park. There are also eateries and souvenier stands in the car park. Halfway way to Pompeii we stopped for a 15min break and so we purchased food and drinks there to take in with us. After purchasing your tickets you can recieve a free bookle and map of Pompeii which was available in a few different languages. The map and booklet was very useful. We were given 4.5 hours to look around which unfortunately didn't allow us to see everything. But we enjoyed the day very much and would recommend doing this trip.
We really wanted to go to Pompeii but did not know the best way to get there. The tour bacisally drove you there and back - whick was worth it not to have to worry how to get there by ourselves. It was worth it!
Bus trip was long with no reading material about Pompeii as promised, but the actual ruins were great. We appreciated limited commercialism within ruins. I was suprised that the entrance fee was not included in the cost.
no frill and practical. guide on bus was very nice. it was exactly what we wanted: comfortable, no-brainer transportation to and from pompeii. would recommend to others.
Fantastic trip! Everything were planned perfectly. I was a bit lost to find the parking lot in the end, but the staff were very kind and patient to wait for us.
worth every dime
Great way to see Pompeii when time is limited. Well worth the time. Trip does not include entrance fee of 11 euro. Guide on coach was non-communicative. She pointed out Monte Cassino en route otherwise silence. There was no literature on the coach. Didn't bother me personally but others might expect more given the reviews.
Lovely trip to Pompeii, the good thing is we can have an idependent day. I just wish we had 6 hours to explore the site rather than 4.
It was very easy and comfortable transportation from Rome to Pompeii. The bus hostess was worthless, but I had no expectations for an informed guide. I was NOT happy about the stop at the cameo shop ... did not see that in the trip info online. But the simple transportation and Pompeii itself made the trip worthwhile and enjoyable. Will recommend to others with full disclosure regarding hostess and stop for cameo shop.
