Pompeii Day Trip
July 2010
Jeffrey W

Do you think he could have even conceived what it meant that one day a picture of him in his moment of peril would live forever on the internet?
Poignant figure in Pompeii
July 2009
Kelley F
USA
The figure really captures the horror of the last moments in Pompeii. To me the figure appears to be crying. After walking through the villages, touring the homes and getting a feel for their society, this image brought the distant past very close to your heart.
A beautiful garden in a big family's house
September 2010
They have so many beatiful gardens in Pompeii. Many tourists wowwed and said, I want to live here!
A pool in a big house
September 2010
I haven't heard any explaination for the pools in many houses. However, from my own observation, it was for receiving and reflecting the sunlight from the skylight on the roof, as they only place the windows on the ceiling. But imagine, it could be a beautiful decoration as well.
One of the casas
September 2010
Many of the houses are well structured. Hardly to find two same houses there except the small houses for the poor people.
A street in Pompeii
September 2010
Pompeii was amazingly well organized, compare to most of our cities in nowadays.
One plastered body
September 2010
I assume it is a body of a slave from the location it positioned. It's near the tombs and for some reason it was not allowed to approch. However, as I told the staff there that it would be a big shame of my trip if I couldn't see it, he laught and said "OKey, come and see, they are original."
