Awesome tour. The tour guide, Salina, was very knowledgeable and funny. Great experience!
Amazing! I learned a great deal of history about the colsseo and the foro. Our guide Insuk was pleasant, patient and extremely knowledgable. I would highly recommend Dark Rome and Insuk to anyone visiting the colsseo for the first time. Thank you!!
Visited in Aug 13. Fantastic tour! Being able to skip the line and access the restricted areas made it even more worthwhile!!
Our tour guide, Julietta was absolutely fabulous.....she is a licensed tour guide with a degree in Art/History of Rome....ask for her for your tour....extremely knowledgeable and pleasant!

We thought that the tour was interesting and the guide knowledgable.
We had expected on balance to spend a little more time in the Colosseum itself than on the hills near by. In our case perhaps the heat of the day controlled our thinking more than anything else as did the crowds.
The following day (Saturday afternoon) we used one of the visits on our roma pass to have a less hot and less crowded look round the colosseum whilst remembering and discussing together the instructive comments of our tour guide of the previous day. Overall an interesting and educational three hours.
David was great! This was my favorite part of my trip to Rome. There was a decent amount of walking but it was logical and informative the entire way. I definitely think that I learned more and got more out of this trip than I would have if I had just bought tickets to the different areas and taken myself. Unfortunately most places in Italy don't have English translations so taking a good English speaking guide can really get you your money and time's worth in places.
We LOVED this tour and our tour guide, Maurizio! We learned a lot about the history and architecture of the Colosseum within the context of the the personalities and societal norms of the time. The guide was organized and had entrance tickets delivered to him before we got to the gate, so no waiting for entry. The group size was the perfect size to keep up together and able to ask questions directly along the way.
The second part of the tour was the Forum, which was also interesting. Maurizio did a great job covering the highlights without a lot of walking, then walked us up Pallatine Hill to the old Palace, which was fantastic.
We highly recommend this tour!
This was the only tour that we booked and let me tell you it was money well spent. The tour guide was very friendly and explained every historical detail in simple, interesting terms so visitors of all ages understood. The down side was that it rained all day but I can honestly say the tour was the highlight of our mini break.
Maurizio was an excellent guide! Very knowledgeable and I learned new things after having done a similar tour in the past at the Colosseum.
