Tour guide was very informative and took us on a great tour. Even though this was 'off-season', paying extra for Skip the Line was more than worth the extra money. Lines were unbelievably long. I would hate to see it during peak season.

Simply fantastic!!!!!! Our guide was excellent, very informative, knowledgeable and a fantastic story teller, allowing you to almost travel back in time and conjour up images of the Roman times, made the whole tour extremely enjoyable!

The tour was great but you still have to wait in line for the security check. Other then that it was great and we learned a lot.

Our guide was wonderful. I would hire her to take me all over Rome. Her knowledge was limitless, her English excellent and her humor truly a bonus.

'Absolutely loved it' does not do justice to our two experiences and introduction to Rome. Our guide was utterly brilliant from the first second of her introduction throughout the 3 hours in Ancient Rome. The depth and breath of her knowledge coupled with her ability to impart it and make the stones come alive had to be experienced to be believed. Her enthusiasm was infectious and electrifying. Her empathy with her subject matter and the humans whose lives she reconstructed was awesome - from the long-forgotten nameless slaves to the mighty emperors through the vanquished and the victors she made them come alive for us. Her final 'gift' to us was a suggestion to visit Trajan's Market - which we did on Tuesday afternoon. Please say another very special thank you to her - especially for sending us to Trajan's Market.

I took an elderly relative on this tour. It's easily accessible, with a lift as an alternative to the steps, and good toilet facilities available. To skip the massive queue was a great bonus; the place was packed. One of the audio sets that we had was a bit crackly. Because the place was very crowded with lots of other guides speaking, it wasn't alway easy to concentrate on our guide. He was very knowledgeable, but my mother had problems with his strong Italian accent. Of course, only to be expected in Italy, but worth a mention. In the end, the heat ruined it for us; we thoroughly enjoyed the Colosseum but wished we had booked just the Colosseum and not the rest of the tour...only because of the heat. The guide gave us a short break to have a look around after the Colosseum before going on to the next part, but we had to abandon it because it was 39 degrees that day and far too hot to concentrate on anything apart from trying to keep cool.

The only thing I would suggest to improve this tour is to tour the Colosseum last and not at the start. This way, if people wished, they could stay in the Colosseum after the tour finished to explore it more. Other than this, the tour was very informative and interesting.

Tour was very fun and informative. Smaller children may have difficulty with all the stair climbing and total distance. Our guide was local and had a long family history in Italy.

Great way to get into Rome. Make sure you know where the group is meeting before you get there, as not where I first suspected. Tour guide was informative, & everyone was nice!

We liked the small number of people on this tour. Only sixteen people instead of twenty five or larger. The tour guide was very knowledgeable, but it was hard to understand her because she talked so fast. There is a lot of walking on this tour, so wear good walking shoes. It would of been nice to have a map of the Forum and Colosseum on this tour to understand better and to visualize what ruins we were looking at. But this tour is definitely worth doing for first or second time visitors to Rome.
