Read what other Viator.com travelers think about the Skip the Line: Crypts and Roman Catacombs Small Group Walking Tour. What they loved, what they liked and what they think could be improved, it's all here to help you make the most of your next trip.
Getting to the catacombs would have been difficult on our own but this tour combines them with 2 other great sites in 3 hours. A great tour to pick up some of the less obvious gems in Rome. Although it is described as a walking tour, travel betwen the sites is by coach. The guides are very good.
Outstanding tour that was the highlight of our trip to Rome. The catacombs and crypts were amazing to see and learn about. Our guide was incredible and made the event fun and educational. I would recommend anyone visiting Rome to sign up for this tour.
Crypts and Roman Catacombs was with another small group but we all went on a coach together which was a surprise, but went back to small groups once we arrive at three different locations. Again tour guide was knowledgeable and very descriptive, and she done the tour with great passion. This was with Dark Rome via Viator and my children out of all the tours loved this the most. It was a fascinating experience and amazing to see these chambers of Crypts and Catacombs still exist, especially under the city. The only thing to be aware of was we were asked to met at the fountain and it was only by sheer chance my husband show a man with a clip board in the large open square that made us realise he was checking people in and not at the fountain as stated in our information.
Lots of interesting information. Tour guide was professional, very knowledgeable of history.
There were 3 of us that went on this Catacombs Tour. I am glad we did. It was educational and interesting. It is unimaginable the number of people who must have been buried in those miles and miles of catacombs under Rome where you can't even tell they are there from above. The last Capuchian Monks Bones Museum was a real bonus. Our main aim was the catacombs, so we didn't pay much attention to the church and bones that were included in the price. We weren't going to go because of the cost, but now we are glad we did.
Tiffany, our guide, was exceptional. Very knowlegeable, she kept filling us with valuable information about the sights, the environment, the history and the local customs. In the scorching summer heat, this tour was a very good option to break away from the "oven" that is Rome in August.
I did not realize there would be so much bus on this 'walking tour', but I really liked it. The Crypts, Catacombs, and San Clemente were all really interesting. I really liked our tour guide; I think her name is Katrina. She was really knowledgeable and fun, and after the tour she gave us general information about Rome, like where to get the best gelato.
Daniela was an excellent guide ! I would highly recommend this tour.
Very interesting tour. Good to do on a hot day. Limited to no photos allowed. Knowledgable tour guide (Dark Rome)
What an interesting tour. Our guide made it even more interesting in the information she shared with us. everything was done professionally.
A great tour. The guide was very nice and professional, no problem meeting up with the tour, etc.
The crypts and catacombs both were very interesting and definitely a different way to see Rome.
This was an excellent tour that would have been hard to do on my own. The places we visited were some distance apart and joining this tour gave me some insight into the history of Rome. I found the catacombs fascinating and enjoyed learning about them. I also found the Capuchin museum at the end to be particularly interesting. The rooms that were decorated with the bones of the dead showed so much about the culture and religious beliefs. Our guide was very knowledgeable and enthusiastic and was able to breathe life into this dead topic.
