Fantastic tour! A different side to Rome. Don't miss this one, very interesting information and a top notch, fun guide!!!
Really liked tis tour. Our guide was brilliant, full of knowledge and a grat willingness to share it with us. She also had a good sense of humour and is a great people's person. Would definitely do another via tour tour again in the future.
Our Guide (Mike) was great. He made the trip interesting and fun. Being able to explore underground Rome was fascinating and helped us to really appreciate how the city had grown up over the centuries. A great trip for a hot day as you spend most of the time in cool churches, underground or in an air conditioned coach. Would highly recommend this tour for anyone who wants to understand more about the customs and culture of ancient Rome.
This tour was very interesting and in depth. Peter our tour guide went into great detail and we really learned a lot of information that I don't feel you get with a large tour group. There was plenty of time for questions and the tour covers a lot. The only drawback is that there is no photography allowed, other than outside, but that isn't the fault of the touring company.
Tour excelente ! A guia estava bem preparada e era muito cordial.
Corrine was a fantastic tour guide - she spoke very well, very knowledgeable and was very kind and mad our experience wonderful!! Thanks
This was a most fascinating tour. Our guide, Mike (from California), greeted us at the Piazza Barberini at 2:15 pm. He guided our group of about 15 through (in order) the Capuchin Crypt, Domitilla Catacombs and Basilica di San Clememte. Mike is very knowledgeable and enthusiastic about these places. His commentary was clear, interesting and humorous. I loved his jokes; they added to my enjoyment of the tour. The tour was conducted at a very comfortable, un-hurried pace; the walking was not strenuous at all at any of the attractions (I'm 57). The bones displays at the Capuchin Crypt was one of the most eeriest and strangest things I ever saw. Walking through the tunnels of the catacombs and the levels (denoting time periods) of the basilica was also an amazing and memorable experience. The only downside was the prohibiting of photography by officials at all attractions. We were transported to each site by tour bus that we shared with another group. All admissions are included in the tour price. I highly recommend this tour!
Great tour! Creepy, beautiful, historic. Georgia was very informative and entertaining! We learned so much. I definite must and will definitely do again if given the chance. Do not miss! The best tour featuring multiple sites.
One of the best tours I have ever done. It was very interesting, the guide had a lot of knowledge and explained everything amazingly. I strongly recommended this tour.
Our tour guide was wonderful. She kept us moving. through the cappucini monastery/museum/crypt, then on to the catacombs. she was knowledgeable and nice. My wife and I's favorite part was the Basilica of San Clemente and the first century church, right across from the gladiator's training area and the Colleseum. To see the same red brick tile floor in the 1st century church as the floor of the newly opened lower/bottom of the Colleseum was unforgettable. Yes! We did tours every day in Rome, Pompeii, Florence, and Venice. This tour stands out! JLD
This tour was very interesting! You are taken to some extremely old underground temples that will blow your mind. I highly recommend this tour for anyone who likes to be transported back in time.
Peter, our guide from Dark Rome tours was highly informative about each of the sites we visited during the tour. The sites were in great shape and provided some great detail about the history of Rome, and the life of the people at the time when the crypts/catacombs/churches were built. He also provided us with some valuable tips about negotiating Rome itself as tourists.....dining out, locations to visit for different activities, and cultural differences that can be found that might be misinterpreted. Would recommend the tour to anyone. Well worth it!
Great guide! Very knowledgeable about every site we visited. Worth every penny.
