The trip was excellent. We appreciated the well delivered commentaries on the bus between destinations. Our guide (Rebecca) was very knowledgable and witty and had a major part in the success. The three sites visited complemented each other.

We had been to 2 out of 3 of the sights on this tour before, but our tour guide was excellent and made the re-visits even more interesting. We ended up at the Capuchin Crypt which made the return to our hotel very easy.

Fantastic tour! We really had no preconception of what to expect apart from the Capuchin Crypts. The three stops so very different and we found the guides interesting and informative.
Great tour, we recommend it to anyone, and if we have the chance, we wouldconsider doing it again!

Our tour guide Rebecca was fantastic. Her knowledge and experience was extensive and we were able to gain a greater understanding having her as our guide than if we had toured the sights alone. Thanks heaps, Rebecca!

The crypts and catacombs tour was wonderfully macabre and wonderfully intriguing. Our tour guides were Luciana and Peter. They were a pleasure to share an afternoon with. Knowledgeable. Passionate about their subject matter. Luciana remarked that the tour is not so much a focus on death, but a meditation on life. Very true. It was a bit faster paced for my taste, but there was so much to see in such a short period of time, so I did understand the pace. Also, due to the nature of the environments and respect for the dead, cameras are not allowed. I so wanted to share some of those images with friends back home. In the crypts, you will be inches away from bones and skulls on display in elaborate decoration. In the catacombs, you will have a greater appreciation for the myth of the Minotaur. If you bump into the wall and some of the wall comes off on your shoulder, you're going to think, "Oh, I wonder who that was once part of??" A slightly macabre nature helps to provide a deeper appreciation of the tour, but very worthwhile and very enlightening. The message you carry away: Enjoy life while life is still yours for the taking.

The tour was excellent and highly recommended. The first thing to note is that it's a bus and walking tour. So you are taken to three different sites by bus.
Our tour guide, Lucianna (I hope that’s the right spelling) was totally awesome. All the tour guides in Italy apparently have to have degrees in a relevant subject, such as archeology or art history, for example.
This was evident as lucianna was very knowledgeable and made the tour very enjoyable, which isn’t easy to do I’d imagine when you are giving three hour long tours over and over again.
She was also very nice to mum, who was particularly smitten with her and would happily have brought her back home to Scotland with her.
Anyway, the actual tour itself was immense, you see a lot of very interesting things. None more so than the church which is on top of a church which was built on top of a second century Roman house.
All in all this was one of the highlights of a holiday full of highlights and I would recommend it to anyone considering taking the tour.
Initially I thought it seemed quite pricey, but when you throw in being bussed around, that it lasts three hours, all the things you see, and the excellent tour guide, then it’s worth both the time and the money.

This was a Dark Rome Tour, and I wish I had know ahead of time how amazing the guides are for this company as I would have booked our entire trip with them. Luciana and Peter were our guides for this excursion, and they were knowledgeable and fun. I thought this outing might be boring, but it was incredibly fascinating! A church with designs entirely made out of skeleton bones, the catacomb maze, and a "four layer" church! You have to see it to believe it!

Amazing! I didn't even realize there were 2 other places to go with this tour! The bus was comfy and cold a/c! August was so hot! The sites were amazing and our tour guide was so polite and knowledgeable. The only problem was her speaker on the bus did not work and it was difficult to hear from the back. She was kind enough to stand in the middle of the bus to accommodate as!

Excellent tour that is very well organized and orchestrated. There was absolutely no waiting time to visit the crypts and the information shared by both guides on the tour was absolutely fabulous. They were both extremely familiar with the material and provided lots of interesting information and answered all our questions. We had Karina as our guide. Great tour and we would never have seen what we saw had we tried on our own.
