WOW. Visiting Rome and not tour St Peter's Basilica, will be a pity. It does not matter what faith one have or follow. You feel something different once you enter the Basilica. The history is there and alive. We could not have completed the visit in Italy, unless one embrace the tour of The Vatican. Charles and Evelyn . Melbourne Australia
We greatly enjoyed our tour
We picked the Spanish option since my parents were there
Valentina did an outstanding job as tour guide and we thoroughly enjoyed it
Our guide was excellent and gave us a thorough overview of what we were seeing. I must say that our experience was probably influenced by the fact that we were the only two for an English tour at the time, so we basically had a private tour of St. Peter's. Also, remarkably, the Basilica was not crowded. Our tour was at 12:30, so having a mid-day tour might be the way to go. The process of "skipping the line" went very fast and from the time we met the representative to the time we were with our guide was about 5-10 minutes, which included walking to the entrance and to the guide podium.
This tour was great! Stefania was a terrific guide, very informative and kept us engaged while moving the tour along!
Silvia speaks German very well and guided us perfectl and competent.
I gave 5 stars, even with miscommunication in the meeting place for the start of the tour after calling the toll-free customer service number for confirmation of the meeting place. We were in the wrong place, and missed the departure of our tour group. Kudos to customer service after a desperate call for help in finding the group; they contacted one of their support staff inside the Basilica who came out to the piazza and found us, took us personally into the Basilica past hoards of waiting people. to join the tour which was just starting. We didn't miss a minute of the tour! Our guide was fantastic, knowledgeable, and experienced. I highly recommend Viator for future tours in Rome.
We booked this tour at the last minute as we had seen the queues the day before. Thoroughly impressed. Easy to find the meeting point. Had we not taken this tour we would have missed so much. Very professionally presented and guide made sure all our group was able to see by ensuring shorter people and children were in front. She also made sure the less able could move around with her We were there at lunchtime so crowds were small and easy to view everything. Tour is 1 hour aand then you can spend as much time as you wish going back through. Hint. If you wish to use the toilets go after the tour and go back to where you meet the guide ( not the meeting point) as queues outside on the way out were very long
Was one of the most memorial days. Our tour guide was one of the best and to top it off in the three and a half years she has been doing this the day we went St Peters was nearly empty. How lucky we're we. We also got to see the Pope who made an enexpected visit our lucky day.
This tour exceeded our expectations. We were met on time by our tour coordinator outside the Basilica. The instructions and directionssent to us prior to our trip were very helpful. Our tour guide, Paula, was absolutely awesome. She shepherded us up close to each feature in the Basilica despite the crowd. The information she shared was in context and specific to what we were viewing. We had a great experience.
Well this tour gets 5 stars for avoiding the queue, never seen such a line of so many people! But felt instructions of where to meet a little hard to know for sure, it was because I saw my family surname on a board in very big letters, that I was able to approach the correct guide collecting folk together outside St Peter's.. Our guide was so lovely, such great story telling and the VOX makes it so easy to hear the guide. The size of this group was just right, as on another tour with different company, had 50 particpants and it was near impossible to keep together or indeed know where he was as soon out of his range the signal would be lost.
The only way to see St Peter's. To skip the line is the first best thing. The guide knew her history and art but after her portion of the tour is over your left on your own to wander, take pictures and take it all in. Worth every dime. Stay as long as you like. A+
