Even with the skip line it took us an hour to get in to the Vatican. However, the folks who did not have a skip line tour waited 2-3 hours. I know because I was curious and asked a gal at the front of the line after we were already done with our tour. You can't believe the length of those lines. They wrap around the Vatican for an incredibly long distance!! That did not look like fun to me at all.

The museum is fantastic and we could get in the museum after only a few minutes waiting, while the original queue was extremely long.

Well worth skipping the queue. Would not have missed the Vatican, it is a must see.
