Our guide, Francesca was terrific! Very knowledgeable and passionate about her work and everything she explained.
Extremely good guide who knew his subject and was obviously very enthusiastic about the whole Vatican City! Well done.
Excellent guide with faultless English. He was an archaeologist (I think called Fabrizio?) and was extremely knowledgeable about what we were looking at, but didn't go on for too long and in too much detail like some guides I have experienced. The tour was thoroughly enjoyed by all members of our party. The only negative would be the difficulty in actually finding your office, but our taxi driver knew where it was, fortunately.
Great tour, educational and well informed guide (that also happened to be an archeologist) made this a worthwhile trip.
It was upsetting that St. Peter's basilica was closed, but our tour guide did a great job making it up!
It was fabulous! Francesca is very knowledgeable and offered really great information. We learned so much on this tour, particularly with regard to Michelangelo's role in the Sistine Chapel. She could answer any question the group posed. She is also quite amusing. This tour added so much depth to our tour of Vatican City.
Excellent tour, very informative and fascinating. Highly recommended!
Very knowledgeable guide. Alfredo was terrific. Wouldn't have done it without the tours. No lines!!!! We stayed after and walked to the top of the Vatican.
IT WAS GREAT. THE TOUR REPRESENTATIVE WAS PROFESSIONAL AND VERY KNOWLEDGEABLE; HE MANAGED TO SHOW AND DESCRIBED LOTS OF HISTORY AND PRESENT LIFE OF THE VATICAN.
THANK YOU FOR THIS KIND OF TOUR GUIDES.
An incredible experience not only for Christians but also for those interested in the art and architecture of Italy.
Our tour guide Serena was an archaeologist - and boy did it show! She was fantastic - very organised, super smooth at getting everyone in to the areas we needed to be in and very effective in communicating with us. She provided an excellent balance between the 'fun stuff' and the factual/historical/structural information on the tour - it was lovely to have a guide who didn't just say 'here's a pretty painting' but could actually tell us who made it, when, how and why. Highly recommended tour - the Vatican is a massive place, and although you don't really get to move at your own pace (it's just a teeny bit faster than what we would have done on our own) you get to see everything you can possibly see, without the risk of getting lost or wandering around like sheep.
Thank you Serena for making our tour so awesome - your passion, knowledge and style were superb.
This was money well spent! We got so much information out of this tour!! I would avoid going on Wednesday - the day the Pope speaks - because the Basilica is blocked off until afternoon and you will miss that part of the "guided" tour, we where still able to stick around and go in on our own - which was horribly crowded.
As always, Viator gave us an experience we won't soon forget. We arrived to the office to start our tour, waited just a few moments and then we were off to see the Vatican Museums, the Sistine Chapel and hte Basilica along with our very friendly and informative tour guide. As she looked a lot like Marisa Tomei too! Always love using Viator!!
