Skip the Lines is the way to go...!
The guide was WONDERFUL, the right amount of time and the right pace, thank you.
Our Vatican tour was fantastic, everything we wanted and more. Our Irish tour guide, Rachel, was brilliant, full of facts, funny and made our day! Could have listened to her all day, she was so knowledgable and friendly. Highly recommend this tour, not to be missed. Beautiful artwork, statues and fantastic views from the top of the dome, a must do!
Our guides added significantly to our experience in Rome. We took multiple tours and also some self guided tours through-out Rome. Every place we went to, we always wished that we had done the guided tour. However, our experience with Marta at the Vatican was especially outstanding. The extra patience and information that she provided made the experience one of our best experiences on our vacation.
Sorry I took so long to answer your request The last time I was in Rome was in 1956 with transportation provided by uncle sam on an aircraft carrier U.S.S. Wasp CVS 18 which was 60 years ago.! I have talked about it for years and finally my wife and I had the opportunity to see Rome again while taking a cruise on Celebrity. Due to schedule changes we were limited to a short time before the cruise which left out of Civetticha (sp) we were staying in a hotel in Rome and needed to get a tour first thing in the morning so we could get to the ship an hour away by 1pm
I cannot believe the expierence we had with Viator . There was a tour with only 10 people that met at 8am and was completed well in time for us to go back to the hotel then on to the ship. My wife will never forget the expierence that we had . There were croweds and lines everywhere which we completly by passed and never at any point waited a minute. From the time we met (great directions to the meeting point) a little confusing because we got there early and nobody was around. Promptly we were met by a representitive who introduced us (only 10) I have heard stories of combined grioups which we did not have. The Tour Guide 's name was Claudia and it was the most impressive tour I have ever been on . There was no strain for us 77 year olds and I cannot explain the proffesionalism and knowledge that Claudia had .I would go on any tour tomorrow that she leads ,her knowledge of the Vatican and ability to answer any question even the history knowledgeable members was amazing. Claudia also was a extreemly friendly and on some occasions humerous, she had full respect of the saintity of the area and totaly controlled the group at all times. Since we have returned home ,after a 13 day cruise, all we talk about is Claudia and her tour . We reccommend Viator to all who have the opportunity to see Rome . If possible I would like to know how to contact Claudia to thank her personally.PML (retired United Airlines)
Our tour with Damiano was excellent. His knowledge base was excellent, and we never waited in line except for the rest room. This was very worthwhile.
This tour was breathtaking and Nina our tour guide made it very interesting.
Fantastic great guide, would recommend the experience to all.
Don't try this visit without Viator ! We walked past hundreds of people that HAD reservations ! We were escorted into the Vatican BEFORE it was officially open. Our small group and the radios that we wore were an excellent way to visit the area. I would not go any other way !
Nina was amazing!!. She is very knowledgeable. The tour was great!!
We were both bowled over by this tour. Our guide, Alessia, was extremely knowledgeable and gave us a charming walk round the Vatican and the Sistine Chapel for 3 1/2 hours. We had been before, but the tour then was very rushed and we missed so many things, Alessia took her time and explained everything she thought relevant, so much so, that our brains were full up at the end. Thank you, it was great!!!
This tour was awesome. Our tour guide, Rachel discussed everything at just the right amount of information. Not too much and not too little. I also appreciated the pace at which we went because I have arthritis in my lower back and it allowed us to take all the pictures we wanted. Rachel was the best tour guide we had in our entire trip. I will most definitely take a Viator tour again.
Annalise was a fantastic guide for our Vatican Museum tour. Despite a few technical hitches on the morning of our tour, Annalise was able to rectify these issues in collaboration with the Vatican staff in a timely manner and then continue the tour. Annalise was able to provide a thorough highlights tour without information overload and to maintain a high level of interest in the surroundings, the history, amazing paintings, frescos, mosaics that were literally floor to ceiling in most rooms and really bought it alive.Yes it was early in the morning, but by the time the tour was completed, one realizes how chaotic the lines up are. If in Rome and participating in a Vatican Museum tour again, we would certainly consider this tour again.
