The Ancient Art of Rome and the Roman Forum Tour with Private Art Historian
This tour will show you one of the richest collections of ancient art in the city, allowing you to have a full understanding of Ancient Rome from the origin, to the end of the Roman Empire.
Being the tour at Capitol Square (Piazza del Campidoglio) by the Equestrian Statue of Marcus Aurelius, and visit the Capitoline Museums. This famous collection displayed in wonderful halls decorated with frescoes of the 16C includes ancient statues, vases, objects and important monuments like the original statue of Marcus Aurelius, the ruins of the temple of Jupiter on the Capitol (6 C.BC) and the Tabularium. From here it is possible to have a wonderful view over the Roman Forum which will be described in detail. Descending from the Piazza del Campidoglio towards the Forum we will view the Trajan Markets, Trajan's Forum and his famous marvelously sculpted Column, which will be explained.
