The barman in our hotel recommended these two places to us last year. I'm so pleased that we took him up on the suggestions. Hadrian's Villa is an interesting archaeological site - the size of it is breathtaking but the highlight was the tour of Villa d'Este. The gardens are the most beautiful I have ever seen with, literally, hundreds of water features. The fountains and waterfalls are so mesmerising I could have spent the whole day sitting watching them and listening to the water. This trip is a must!
fantastic content, knowledgable and attentive guide, comfortable coach - excellent experinece, highly recommended. ps if you are luccky enough to get Priscilla, the experience will be even more enjoyable.
Amazing. Even in the rain we were awed by the scale of Hadrian's Villa. Our guide, Patricia, paced the tour really well so the steep slope of Villa d'Este was no problem and we could really enjoy the gardens.
Amazing day! My favourite tour when in Rome.
Rosa our guide was brilliant. We had a full day of historical insight. It was so refreshing to have someone show you around that was passionate about archaeology.
We had the tiniest hiccup. The directions to get to the tour office were very vague. We made it by the skin of our teeth. All in all a truly brilliant day.
Very well organized. Good talkative guide. A Must.
A great day, knowledgable guide and well organised trip
If you have the chance definately take this day trip. Our guide was one of the best she was very informative and entertaining. If you want to get a better idea of history then Hadrian's Villa is a must. The ruins are in amazing shape you can really picture the past. All 3 of the people in our group said it was worth it.
You have to be quite fit to take this tour on in high summer. There's little shade and a few tourists were looking ragged by the end of a long day. It was a fact-packed day and enjoyable.
Guide was PhD in archaeology and was most excellent.
exelent!!!!!!!
Wonderful trip and tour guide. The gardens of Villa d'Este the highlight of the day.
