We took this tour on a sunny day in July. Every aspect of the tour was enjoyable- except for perhaps the late start due to a late-comer! Our tour guide, Peter, was enthusiastic and knew everything there was to know about Roman history as well as wine-making and everything in-between. The bus was comfortable and the company was great. We were treated to a tour of a couple of towns and a wonderful lunch at a winery. The balance of time spent in transit and on-site was just right. I would (and already have) recommended this tour to others.
Good tour. It would have been nice if the description outlined the fact that there was a 3 hr bus trip (each way).
The guide was so nice and just a pleasure to spend time with. She was very knowledgeable on everything in Italy as well. The only problem I had was that it seemed like there was a lot of "filler" activities done to ensure there was no dead time. For example we sat for about 30 min watching the chanting of the monks, everyone on the tour was confused why were there. The other "filler" was stopping in a town after the wine tasting. Again most on the tour did not understand why we stopped there. However, the views of the Tuscany region were amazing..
Excellent tour to see much of Toscana in a day. Peter (tour guide) was super knowledgeable and easy to hang out with for the day. Found myself quoting some of the things he said later in my trip! Must be good if I retained some facts! Good wine, nice to see a couple towns in tuscany and landscape.
Everything was perfect. the guide, the food, the place, the wine...
A Tuscany day trip from Rome worth every penny. Guide Violet was extremely knowledgeable and very friendly. Would highly recommend.
The tour was fantastic. Tour guide was very nice. Her facts were a bit off but mostly she was good. It was the best part of our trip. We will do it again in a heartbeat.
This was a great tour. The country side was beautiful. Our lunch at the local winery was great and very "Italian". The visit to the monastery to hear the monks sing was very moving. This trip is well worth taking just to see the beautiful land and learn the history of the region.
It was an excellent tour from some of the most beautiful parts of Tuscany that we missed in 2011.
We truly enjoyed Montepulciano and pienza. The hill top towns, vineyards, Cyprus trees, houses built with stone looked like a beautiful painting that you want to look at it for hours. Lunch at the winery and wine tasting was an amazing experience . What a beautiful place.
Above all we travel a lot and have been on many tours. We have never, ever seen a tour guide(Peter)
who is so knowledgeable and takes so much time to explain all historical facts and social issues in such a very pleasant and interesting way. We think he was exceptional and has a gift to do what he is doing. Take care of him and value his service to your clients. We highly recommend this tour, Sherry and Barry
Fantastic day! We spent about 7 hours in the bus compared to the 3 hrs we spent out of the bus but it was very enjoyable. We loved Montepulciano and the Tuscan farm we were taken to. The monastery was really quaint also. Perhaps I would have spent less time in Pienza and more time in Montepulciano.
This was certainly the best tour my family, friends and I took in Italy. The best part of the tour was certainly the wine tasting and tuscan lunch. The views of the country side and the walk through the Medieval town was also great. The tour guides were fantastic and spoke fluent English. Definitely recommend this tour.
We went on our honeymoon and was the best thing we did in Italy. Our Tour Guide Peter was funny, entertaining, informative and really added to the enjoyability of the trip. We also did a trip of the Colosseum/Forum and a Pompeii/Mt. Vesuvius Trip. If you go to Rome (especially if you are a couple) do yourself a favor and book this trip.
