Ziggy, our guide, was brilliant - excellent commentary and insights. Her well-planned tour meant that for the most part we missed the crowds, which greatly enhanced our enjoyment of the Vatican gardens. Ziggy skillfully shepherded the tour through the busy Sistine Chapel and then on to St Peters. Including a short-break in the itinerary was very much appreciated by all concerned. Highly recommend this tour.
Excellent tour. Chiara made it an unforgetable experience with her in-depth knowledge and personality.
Our guide was VERY informative. The Gardens are beautiful and QUIET! Lovely to walk around in the relative cool of the morning.
Museum Tour was not as detailed as we expected but given the amount of time allocated and the crowds it was probably as much as could be expected.
The Sistine Chapel seemed to have a greater number of tourists in it than the last time we visited (same time of year) and was definitely noisier as a result, but still very beautiful and a 'must see'.
We would highly recommend this tour!
The tour was a wonderful tour. The gardens are beautiful and also offer a great view of St. Peter's Basilica dome. I did anticipate more color from blooming flowers but the sculptured shrubs and other greenery along with sculptures, fountains, etc. were lovely. My tour guide was very knowledgeable and made the tour a wonderful experience.
Excelent tour guide, amazing gardens and museum. Going into Basilica San Pedro was the highlight og the day. We had a little trouble early in the morning trying to find our tour guide, they were suposed to be wearing an orange jacker but she wasn't so there were many people (like us) really stressed
Excelent tour, well guided by an official Vatican guide. Well worth it!
Excellent gardens! This is a treasure that is often missed. The climb to the top of St Peters was well worth the view. Loved the whole tour.
Our tour of the Vatican Gardens and museum was excellent! We had a great guide (unfortunately, I can't remember her name) but she gave an excellent, unhurried tour of the Gardens which are very peaceful and quiet, as well as offer some spectacular photo opportunities of St. Peters. The Museum tour was not as good just because of the volume of people going through but once we got into the Basilica, it was excellent again. Our access to the Vatican was definitely "Front of the Line" as we walked right in ahead of lots of people. This is a great way to see the Vatican and gardens and I would recommend it to anyone visiting Rome. Next time, I will book a Museum Tour with Viator when the crowds are not so large.
This was a great tour. Rosa, our guide, was very informative and a great host through the Gardens, Museum, and Basilica. TAKE THIS ONE!!!!!!
This was our second visit to Rome but with different people. We used Viatour Vatican deal the previous time and were very pleased. But this time we opted for the garden tour and were fabulously impressed!!
It was such a fabulous tour with a very knowlegdeable guide.
I would highly recomend this to anyone. My partner is not even remotely interested in gardens but even he was impressed.
I know the price is a bit more than just the museum tour but we got to see a lot of different things that were shut off from ordinary visitors and seeing as it was the week before easter and extremely busy this was lovely.
5* again from us and we will use you on future trips.
We really enjoyed this tour. The tour guide (whose name I have forgotten) was extremely knowledgeable and helpful and made the tour very special. She is a gem. The gardens were very lovely, and we appreciated being able to see this special part of the Vatican. Inside the Vatican itself it was very crowded, so I highly recommend doing a tour like this one that takes you to the much less crowded parts.
This tour was amazing and so was the guide. At first I wasn't sure. They didn't have my family listed on the list for that day, but they called and got it fixed. I guess it was because my family bought the tickets so long in advance. Also it had rained with thunder/lightning early in the morning and was afraid that they were not going to do the tour of the gardens. The garden tour I think was the best part. She went the backward way of the other tours so we didn't have to deal with a lot of people. It was so beautiful then and not everything was in full bloom yet. Guide led us to a spot in the Vatican with an amazing view of Rome, then she helped us skip the lines to the museums and the Sistine Chapel. I think we spend too long in the Sistine Chapel, but just enough time in the museums. I can't remember our guide's name, but she explained everything perfectly (not too much information, but enough to understand the history). She left no time for shopping, but I wouldn't want to carry anything around during the tour.
The gardens were such a great and relaxing way to enjoy the Vatican before the throngs of people inside. Also, Carrani tours was amazing! We arrived late to our meeting point due to the rain, and they found us and we were able to join a different tour and missed out on nothing!
Our guide was absolutely fabulous. We wished that we had done more tours of this caliber. Touring the gardens was a great way to start before encountering the huge crowds in other parts of the Vatican. Having access to the Bramante staircase was a real bonus. We also appreciated the small group that allowed time for questions. Our guide was knowledgeable, patient and amusing- a great combination. She made this a very personal and memorable experience, a highlight of our trip to Rome.
