This tour was amazing and so was the guide. At first I wasn't sure. They didn't have my family listed on the list for that day, but they called and got it fixed. I guess it was because my family bought the tickets so long in advance. Also it had rained with thunder/lightning early in the morning and was afraid that they were not going to do the tour of the gardens. The garden tour I think was the best part. She went the backward way of the other tours so we didn't have to deal with a lot of people. It was so beautiful then and not everything was in full bloom yet. Guide led us to a spot in the Vatican with an amazing view of Rome, then she helped us skip the lines to the museums and the Sistine Chapel. I think we spend too long in the Sistine Chapel, but just enough time in the museums. I can't remember our guide's name, but she explained everything perfectly (not too much information, but enough to understand the history). She left no time for shopping, but I wouldn't want to carry anything around during the tour.
The gardens were such a great and relaxing way to enjoy the Vatican before the throngs of people inside. Also, Carrani tours was amazing! We arrived late to our meeting point due to the rain, and they found us and we were able to join a different tour and missed out on nothing!
Our guide was absolutely fabulous. We wished that we had done more tours of this caliber. Touring the gardens was a great way to start before encountering the huge crowds in other parts of the Vatican. Having access to the Bramante staircase was a real bonus. We also appreciated the small group that allowed time for questions. Our guide was knowledgeable, patient and amusing- a great combination. She made this a very personal and memorable experience, a highlight of our trip to Rome.
Getting access to the Vatican gardens was so special. To have the peace of the gardens before we descended with the masses into the museums and Sistene Chapel took the harassment out of the tour! The gardens have wonderful views of St Peters, and navigating the whole complex with a guide made it easie
A well-organized tour, full of information, conducted by an expert and personable guide. (Siggy?) The gardens are a peaceful oasis and an interesting counterpoint to the richer scenes in the Vatican museums themselves. Definitely worth five hours of time and the cost of the tour.
A wonderful tour and the tour guide was amazing! She was brillant with explanations and inside stories and descriptions. The gardens were so beautiful and relaxing. The Vatican museum was very carefully explained and described by our guide, as well as the Sistine chapel before we entered. I highly recommend this tour to anyone coming to Rome. A wonderful experience!
VERY GOOD TRIP,VERY GOOD GUIDE, VERY GOOD SMALL NUMBER IN THE GROUP, IE 9 , WELL ORGANISED, WOULD RECCOMENED
Really nice tour, we had Siegi as a guide, she was very knowledgeable, she gave us a lot of precious information. My only regret is that we haven't seen Raphael's apartments even if on the voucher it said is included. We have also liked Bramante's stairs. Beautiful piece of art!
