This tour was amazing made extra special by the tour guide Rachel her knowledge is outstanding! The time rachel takes to point out details that you would easly miss makes it worth getting up at such an earlier time! The tour is worth every penny. I would highly recommended this tour to everyone.
The early morning was a challenge but worth it as we did manage to miss the crowds for the early part of the tour. The breakfast in the Pine Courtyard was a nice idea in a superb setting but a bit chilly at 7 am on a mid April morning. The tour itself was exceptional, mainly due to our guide, Rachel. She has an impressive knowledge especially of the Vatican museum and its exhibits and managed to find quiet room where she could talk to us away from the crowds. St Peter's was busy but Rachel managed to keep us all together... And enthralled.
This tour was fantastic. The meeting place was easy to find and the tour was very well organised. Our guide Dario was brilliant, he gave us so much information and kept us all interested and entertained. The audio equipment was great and we could hear every word. We went first to the gardens for breakfast, the gardens are beautiful and you have time to relax and take in the surroundings. It was great to have a look around without any crowds. The breakfast was not brilliant as everything was pretty much cold but this was not why we went at this time, i think it would be better if they stuck to a cold buffet with hot drinks.
The Vatican is amazing and we started our tour without any crowds. Dario explained everything for us and pointed out information that we would not have known. He made sure that everyone had time to see what they wanted to see and had time for pictures. The Sistine Chapel was awesome, unfortunately there were people talking and taking pictures which is not allowed, this spoilt our time in there a little as we would have liked to feel more of the emotion from the room. We finished off in St Peters Basilica and wow this place is astounding, the feel is totally overwhelming. The scale of it is just amazing. Dario pointed out as much information as he could which was great. When the tour had finished Dario made sure we all had the information we needed to proceed on our own. We decided to climb the tower to the top and wow, what a view. Make sure you don't miss this. We also visited the gift shop and also posted a card back home from The Vatican. I would highly recommend this tour as you will find out so much more information than you would doing it on your own and the early start means that you avoid any queues. The rest of the day is yours to carry on exploring. Our tour did run over time but Dario kept a check on everyone and he didn't rush which was great. Thank you Dario for an amazing time. We would love to do this again
the only way to see the Vatican museums. Knowledgeable tour guide highlighted things we had not noticed in three prior visits. Learned a lot, saw alot and enjoyed the entire e perience.
This was the experience of a lifetime. Take this tour if you get the chance!
Rachel was our guide and we loved her! This was a very early start but was totally worth it. She was very knowledgable and had a great sense of humor. Even though you could spend days in the museums and not see everything, we felt that the things she showed us along with the stories of the artists and the history she shared gave us the very best the Vatican city has to offer. Added bonsu: the breakfast was yummy.
Susanna was informative, fun and covered just the right amount of detail. The small group size and the early entry is the only way I would recommend seeing the Vatican. It was a wonderful experience!
Loved the breakfast and loved the informative tour through the museums. Worth every cent!
This was a great tour. It's worth to get up early. Our tour guide Rachel was great. She knew so many things and made the museum a live with all the background.
Hans and Marlies
EXCELLENT!!! This tour was GREAT. Great way to see everything. Our guide was extremely knowledgeable and could have given a full day tour. Disappointing that we only got 10 minutes in the Sistine Chapel. I could have skipped much of the other artwork to get more time in the chapel. They were trying to get us all out before the Pope had a meeting, but cramming us in the chapel with thousands of others and pushing us through in 10 minutes was disappointing.
Our tour guide, Rachel, was terrific! She was enthusiastic and knowledgeable. We covered a great deal of information and learned a lot about the art, times and practices of the church when the works were commissioned. Rachel's good humor and easy going style added a great deal to the sights we saw.
Absolutely wonderful experience! I would do this tour again! Delicious breakfast, knowledgeable guide, no lines - perfect!
I highly recommend this tour! The breakfast was fantastic - so fresh, lots of options and was in a cute, sunny little courtyard. Our guide was great, she really knew her material and history and was super friendly (I think her name was Rachel??). It really made a difference getting there early!
We were very impressed by the tour guide, as she was so knowledgeable and very easy to understand. We were lucky enough to only have a small group. My only disappointment is that we didn't get to see inside The Vatican, as when our tour was over, we had to walk all the way back down to the cloak room and retrieve our backpacks and walk to the front of the Vatican and join a four hour line up. We were told when the Pope says mass in the piazza on a Wednesday, you cannot access from the Sistine Chapel until after the mass is over, which was a couple of hours wait, after 1 pm. We were really left to fend for ourselves after the Museum Tour. Breakfast was very nice and there was a nice assortment of food.
Worth every cent, you are in the Vatican before the crowd, the guide (Rachel) was excellent and conducted a very interesting tour. The Breakfast was excellent with plenty of options and time to eat it. Definitely worth paying the cost of this tour to be able to view some of the Vatican's treasures without too many people obstructing the view.
This tour was simply amazing!!!! We went straight through to the Vatican and into the Sistine chapel with ease. No crowds. the breakfast was awesome. Outside under cover, overlooking the grounds of the Vatican. Doesnt get any better than that. The day before we did the tour, we drove past the Vatican and the line literally followed the wall.......hundreds of people lining up! We had the whole place to ourselves and we were in and out before the public had access to it. Totally recommend this tour! The guide that was had was so informative and knowledgeable.
This was an excellent and our favorite tour while in Rome for a week. It was well worth the early morning and taxi ride to the meetup area. Our tour started at the bottom of the steps from where the taxi dropped us off. There were 2 groups at this time but it never seemed crowded or rushed during the breakfast portion. You have to go through security at the Vatican so be aware and keep metal items in your bags to speed things along. The breakfast was lite but ample and filling. The espresso was excellent and spending sunrise in the garden, watching the sun illuminate the gardens was spectacular.
The tour itself was excellent but a bit rushed. By the time we got to the tapestries other tour groups were rushing past ours. We got to see many fine art works from sculptures, tapestries, and paintings to the famous frescoes and freezes of the Vatican Museum. For most of the tour cameras are fine, just no flash, but remember NO CAMERAS in the Sistine Chapel! We witnessed a kid trying to be sly and sneak a picture and the guards quickly rush him and make him show them the pictures and delete them off the camera. They never touched him or took his property but they were forceful and diligent in enforcing the policy so please head it. There are plenty of postcards and books with professional photos of the frescoes available.
Our tour ended in St Peter's Basilica which was amazing. Our guide explained the major parts of the Chapels inside the basilica and highlighted recommended places to visit after the tour. Unfortunately it was very crowded at this time and my wife got separated near the middle of the basilica part of the tour. The tour guide did what she could short of stopping the tour and searching for her (another couple got lost as well and were with her). We found them at the entrance/exit area and their headphones all were broken so they could not hear our guide calling for them. The end of the tour is really crowded so please pay attention.
This tour, by far was incredible. The experience with early entry, breakfast in the Vatican's Acorn Garden before regular admission had started, access to areas the general public were not allowed, and the overall knowledge and enthusiasm our guide, Daniela, provided was inspiring. Daniela was super
We had a fantastic day. Taurio was a great guide, very informative and kept up our interest the whole way through. The tour was great value, beginning with the breakfast, then understanding the tour as we went through. Would thoroughly recommend this.
Our Vatican tour with Dario was incredible. We loved the breakfast at the Pinecone Courtyard early in the morning. We had milk from the Papal farm. Everything was plentiful and yummy. Dario was the best guide. He spoke perfect English and spoke clearly so we could hear his every word. He was friendly and answered all our questions. At the end, he pointed out the area to go for a visit to the burial chambers one floor beneath St. Peter's. He also pointed out the place to line up to climb the tower for a panoramic view of the Vatican and Rome. We were fortunate to be in Dario's group!!
This tour was one of the major highlights of our trip to Rome and one of the primary reasons was our tour guide, Tiffany! Tiffany obviously loves what she does and brings passion and an encyclopedic-level of knowledge about the Vatican that was really accessible and enjoyable! She provides a wonderful mix of out-of-the-book history with lovely stories and humorous anecdotes that brought the experience truly alive! When our group was assigned to Tiffany as our guide, she took the time to meet each of us and learn where we were from; and throughout the tour engaged with all of us by not only answering our questions but also engaging us with her own. At the beginning, we enjoyed a beautiful and serene setting in the Pine Cone Garden with a lovely breakfast as the sun rose over St. Peter's Basilica. We then moved through the Vatican museum, Sistine Chapel and finally St. Peter's - all the while being shepherded expertly by Tiffany at a perfect pace that my 75 year old mother could easily keep up. I would highly recommend this tour and most especially Tiffany as your guide to make your trip to the Vatican most remarkable and truly special! Thank you Tiffany for a wonderful experience -- you are a gem!
