We were very impressed by the tour guide, as she was so knowledgeable and very easy to understand. We were lucky enough to only have a small group. My only disappointment is that we didn't get to see inside The Vatican, as when our tour was over, we had to walk all the way back down to the cloak room and retrieve our backpacks and walk to the front of the Vatican and join a four hour line up. We were told when the Pope says mass in the piazza on a Wednesday, you cannot access from the Sistine Chapel until after the mass is over, which was a couple of hours wait, after 1 pm. We were really left to fend for ourselves after the Museum Tour. Breakfast was very nice and there was a nice assortment of food.
Worth every cent, you are in the Vatican before the crowd, the guide (Rachel) was excellent and conducted a very interesting tour. The Breakfast was excellent with plenty of options and time to eat it. Definitely worth paying the cost of this tour to be able to view some of the Vatican's treasures without too many people obstructing the view.
This tour was simply amazing!!!! We went straight through to the Vatican and into the Sistine chapel with ease. No crowds. the breakfast was awesome. Outside under cover, overlooking the grounds of the Vatican. Doesnt get any better than that. The day before we did the tour, we drove past the Vatican and the line literally followed the wall.......hundreds of people lining up! We had the whole place to ourselves and we were in and out before the public had access to it. Totally recommend this tour! The guide that was had was so informative and knowledgeable.
This was an excellent and our favorite tour while in Rome for a week. It was well worth the early morning and taxi ride to the meetup area. Our tour started at the bottom of the steps from where the taxi dropped us off. There were 2 groups at this time but it never seemed crowded or rushed during the breakfast portion. You have to go through security at the Vatican so be aware and keep metal items in your bags to speed things along. The breakfast was lite but ample and filling. The espresso was excellent and spending sunrise in the garden, watching the sun illuminate the gardens was spectacular.
The tour itself was excellent but a bit rushed. By the time we got to the tapestries other tour groups were rushing past ours. We got to see many fine art works from sculptures, tapestries, and paintings to the famous frescoes and freezes of the Vatican Museum. For most of the tour cameras are fine, just no flash, but remember NO CAMERAS in the Sistine Chapel! We witnessed a kid trying to be sly and sneak a picture and the guards quickly rush him and make him show them the pictures and delete them off the camera. They never touched him or took his property but they were forceful and diligent in enforcing the policy so please head it. There are plenty of postcards and books with professional photos of the frescoes available.
Our tour ended in St Peter's Basilica which was amazing. Our guide explained the major parts of the Chapels inside the basilica and highlighted recommended places to visit after the tour. Unfortunately it was very crowded at this time and my wife got separated near the middle of the basilica part of the tour. The tour guide did what she could short of stopping the tour and searching for her (another couple got lost as well and were with her). We found them at the entrance/exit area and their headphones all were broken so they could not hear our guide calling for them. The end of the tour is really crowded so please pay attention.
This tour, by far was incredible. The experience with early entry, breakfast in the Vatican's Acorn Garden before regular admission had started, access to areas the general public were not allowed, and the overall knowledge and enthusiasm our guide, Daniela, provided was inspiring. Daniela was super
We had a fantastic day. Taurio was a great guide, very informative and kept up our interest the whole way through. The tour was great value, beginning with the breakfast, then understanding the tour as we went through. Would thoroughly recommend this.
Our Vatican tour with Dario was incredible. We loved the breakfast at the Pinecone Courtyard early in the morning. We had milk from the Papal farm. Everything was plentiful and yummy. Dario was the best guide. He spoke perfect English and spoke clearly so we could hear his every word. He was friendly and answered all our questions. At the end, he pointed out the area to go for a visit to the burial chambers one floor beneath St. Peter's. He also pointed out the place to line up to climb the tower for a panoramic view of the Vatican and Rome. We were fortunate to be in Dario's group!!
This tour was one of the major highlights of our trip to Rome and one of the primary reasons was our tour guide, Tiffany! Tiffany obviously loves what she does and brings passion and an encyclopedic-level of knowledge about the Vatican that was really accessible and enjoyable! She provides a wonderful mix of out-of-the-book history with lovely stories and humorous anecdotes that brought the experience truly alive! When our group was assigned to Tiffany as our guide, she took the time to meet each of us and learn where we were from; and throughout the tour engaged with all of us by not only answering our questions but also engaging us with her own. At the beginning, we enjoyed a beautiful and serene setting in the Pine Cone Garden with a lovely breakfast as the sun rose over St. Peter's Basilica. We then moved through the Vatican museum, Sistine Chapel and finally St. Peter's - all the while being shepherded expertly by Tiffany at a perfect pace that my 75 year old mother could easily keep up. I would highly recommend this tour and most especially Tiffany as your guide to make your trip to the Vatican most remarkable and truly special! Thank you Tiffany for a wonderful experience -- you are a gem!
Definitely worth it! Tiffany was an amazing guide. The breakfast was one of the greatest things since good breakfast is hard to find in Italy. Being there without the crowds is unlike anything. You can actually experience the Vatican the right way.
Guide was great. Breakfast was fantastic in courtyard. Only thing that would have been better would be if we would have gone to the Sistine chapel earlier, than backtracked for the rest of the information. By the time we got to the Sistine Chapel, it was way too crowded, and we were unable to enjoy it like we should have.
Seriously this tour was everything and more. Our guide, Tiffany, made the experience! She was so personable, knowable, and NICE! She immediately got to know everyone in our little group and made the tour about us and the Vatican. It was so much fun. The breakfast was no joke either, so much good food in such a tranquil atmosphere in the pine cone garden. We just loved it. It was a highlight of the trip and most definitely Rome itself.
This was an amazing tour! Our Tour guide was great and we enjoyed this so much. It was very organized and very thorough. Really enjoyed it!
VIP experience is exactly what we rec'd... our tour guide Nicolas was very good. We really like the idea of visiting the Vatican before the crowd. The breakfast was very good, and the mood was very relaxing... no rushing and pushing lines... a perfect start to a perfect day... Thank you Nicolas, your knowledge of the Vatican and the sites made this experience a delight
Tour presented a wonderful 'window' to the sights and sounds of the Vatican Museum.
Our tour guide, Nicolas, was outstanding as he wove together the history, stories, background, and nuance of the marvelous collection with a sprinkling of contemporary humor.
Breakfast exceeded expectations....sumptuous, plentiful, broad range of items, delicious.....
Could have used a little more time for breakfast.
A primary disappointment for the four of us was the time allowed to be inside the Sistine Chapel.
We understood that our tour guide would not have the chance to give a guided account to the
fantastic space, and we also understood it was sacred space as well as an active chapel. But the
short amount of time to simply take in the huge amount of art and religious expression was too short.
Although it may have been presented as 'in lieu of' the time in the Sistine Chapel, the pre-Chapel
guide to the space was wonderfully done and very important in light of the circumstances.
This was a great way to see the Vatican Museum, Sistine Chapel, adjoining spaces, and St. Peter's Basilica.
Go for it if you can.
