Great experience being in before everyone else and the breakfast in the courtyard. Great tour guide
I bought this tour as an anniversary gift for my wife and she loved it!
There is no other way to experience the Vatican, no lines, starts early, a sumptuous breakfast in the courtyard of the Vatican (enjoying the "pope's milk"), an EXCELLENT guide - what an experience. Highly highly recommend. also, climb up to the dome of the Vatican, great views.
This tour was amazing! Having breakfast in the Vatican and learning that the milk we drank was from the papal farms made it that more special. It was an early tour which leaves you the entire day to either stay and take your time or do something else. Loved it.
I thoroughly enjoyed this tour although it was a very early start 6.35am! Our tour guide was very informative and helpful. Breakfast was amazing! Extremely well cooked and an exceptionally wide variety. I was so looking forward to this trip and was not disappointed. The galleries of tapestries and paintings were wonderful. The Sistine Chapel did not disappoint either, although I was told off by one of the guards for sitting on the steps!! I found a seat eventually so that I could look at the ceiling in comfort. It is so amazing that M A lay on his back for 4 years and painted the whole ceiling by candlelight. I wonder how long it would take today with unions present? The size of St Paul's Basilica is vast. There wasn't sufficient time to investigate the lower floor - maybe next time! I would highly recommend this tour it finished just as the crowds were descending. We enjoyed as very relaxed, quiet time in the museum and galleries.
Very very good, tour guide was excellent and breakfast was awsome
This was a great tour, the breakfast was very good value and held in a peaceful garden behind the Museum. Our host was very knowledgeable and had a great passion for everything. She was aware of everything happening on the day and would grab opportunities that were available on that day. Checking to see if things were open or what was going on in different areas.
Is there a five plus? This was beyond outstanding. Our tour guide, Mikaela, led our group of about 20 people through history lessons that could have taken four semesters. The breakfast in the courtyard before anyone else was there (about 60 people under a nice awning tent) was the most amazing experience ever. Truly a once in a lifetime experience for us.
Tiffany was absolutely the best, not often you have a Masters degree and that much experience directly with the Vatican in a tour guide; not to mention, 'guide of the year' accolades which were well earned; perfect tempo, could answer even the seemingly most off-the-wall question with a deep explanation and elaboration; Clearly understanding and reverent to the faithful, at the same time humorous and in no way preachy; Perfect disposition for the tour; her personal anecdotes invaluable; every tour should have Tiffany as their guide!
Rachel was our knowledgeable and charming guide for this tour two weeks ago before our cruise. The tour lasted a bit longer than we expected, so in our rush to return to our hotel for check-out, we did not have a chance to thank and compliment her. We want to take this opportunity to say that this particular tour was the absolute best one of all that we took in Rome, Athens, Istanbul, Santorini, Ephesus, and Mykonos. After our raves, another member of our family wants to go for that exact same experience. Thank you!
This was a once-in-a-lifetime experience. The breakfast was in a courtyard next to the museums, and we were pretty much the only people there. It's a mix of American and Italian food, buffet style. Dario our host was an amazing guide, whose passion for the artwork made the tour that much better. We eventually mixed with other tours going through the Vatican, but it felt like we had the whole place to ourselves in the morning.
Wonderful! Paced beautifully and with expert commentary. Worth getting up early. Delicious breakfast. Very wonderful morning!
This really exceded our expectations! First of all, the breakfast was first class with all sorts of delicious options available including milk brought from the Vatican's farm in Caselgandolfo. Our guide, I think her name was Rose, of Irish descent, was absolutely phenomenal and informative. The sheer experience of entering the Vatican Museums before the crowds was in itself a tremendous experience. By the time we arrived at the Sistine Chapel it was quite full but we were able to really appreciate it thanks toour guide's tips before we went in. Well worth every penny.
