Possibly the highlight of our Italian holiday! If you intend to see the Vatican, the Sistene and St Peters then this is the way to do it. Great breakfast in a beautiful setting then the tour with an amazingly well qualified and informed guide.
My first visit to the Vatican, a remarkable experience. This tour made a real difference. In 3.5 hours, to see so much with a wonderful knowledgable guide enabled us to accomplish so much in a very short time. breakfast was in the 'Pineapple Courtyard' outside. Beautiful. Early, quick easy access, skips the lines thru security. Visited the Vatican Museums, the Sistine Chapel and St. Peters Basilica. Only in Rome for 2 days, so made excellent use of limited time.
definitely recommend 110 - you even have time to get lost from your group when there is no one else in there and not get in trouble
Best breakfast we had in Italy and was great to be inside the museum before it opens to the public. During the busy season, which is when we went, it gets too crowded to enjoy the museum and be able to see everything. We had plenty of time to leisurely see everything without being elbowed. After the tour you can continue to explore on your own. We started to do this but it was so packed we couldn't even keep our kids together to get through rooms so we didn't stay. Also the wait to get into the Vatican was wrapped around the entire square. Would have taken FOREVER to get inside. Considering the security checks I would say the line was several hours long in the hot sun. Highly recommend this tour.
The guide was very knowledgeable, we missed all of the crowds and had an excellent breakfast. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone doing a first trip to the Vatican - it is totally worth the early start.
This experience was AMAZING!!!! our tour guide the pregnant one was beautiful, knowledgeable and had the most wonderful story telling ability, which made you want to know more and her stories made you feel the characters in all the art work come to life, she was absolutely fantastic and have spoken of our VIP Breakfast at the Vatican many times over. To see the Vatican without the thousands of people first thing in the morning was brilliant the photos we were able to take unencumbered by people getting in the way of the photo was priceless. The Vatican tour is one that I have and will continue to recommend to anyone considering visiting Rome, thank you Walkabout and to our wonderful tour guide for an ABSOLUTELY AMAZING EXPERIENCE 11/10 TO YOU FOR A WELL THOUGHT OUT TOUR.

A must if you want to learn about all the amazing works of art! I highly recomend as our guid as fantastic, Breafast was wonderful and easy to find meeting place. nothing like getting in before the 3 hour long lines
Getting in the Vatican, earlier than the general public, was the best experience. The breakfast was very good. Our tour guide from Ireland, was so informative, and made it all so interesting. We really saw more without the crowds, it was worth getting up very early for this tour. Highly recommend it.
This tour was fantastic, better than advertised, our tour guide was a fountain of knowledge and kept everyone's attention.

This was a great idea! I've never seen the Vatican without all the crowds!
Absolutely the high point of our trip to Rome. The tour was well worth the cost, the tour guide was outstanding and the information given out was excellent. It was everything I expected it to be and more. I would tell and have told all of my friends about it. If you can only afford to do one thing while in Rome, do this tour!!
An unforgettable experience. Breakfast in the gardens was amazing and to skip the very long lines was well worth the extra . Would highly recommend doing this.
Well worth getting up early. If you want to visit the vatican city you have to get fast track tickets and this is by far the best option.
Very knowledgeable and friendly guide i feel awful, her name has escaped my memory, but she was incredible!/ Breakfast was lovely in the Pinecone courtyard - a great way to start the day. We then made our way through the museums as a leisurely pace with opportunity to stop and ask questions. So informative to have someone explain things as you walk through. And plenty of time to see the Sistine Chapel. The best way to see it, hardly any people - can't imagine doing it any other way! She was also great as explaining where to go after the tour, and things to see. Thank you for an amazing experience!!
This tour is excellent, got in really quick and enjoyed a very nice breakfast... Tour guide was very friendly and informative... highly recommended...
Our guide Rachael was very knowledgeable about the Vatican, she was very pleasant and had a great sense of humour. I personally learnt a great during the tour which was very interesting. Rachael had a great plan to show us the best the Vatican had to offer with out letting the crowds catch up with us. I would highly recommend taking this tour to get a view of the Vatican without queuing for hours and getting caught up in crowds. It is an early start but well worth the effort. I would recommend anyone wanting to see the Vatican to consider this tour.
Amazing and brilliant, knowledgable guide. He knew stories and facts to bring the Vatican artwork alive. I've been able to impress my family with my new information. Breakfast in the courtyard lovely. By the time breakfast concludes the museums are well and truely open so you don't get a quiet viewing, but it was still fairly manageable. Highly recommend.
This was an amazing experience. Breakfast was delicious and our tour guide Rachel was superb. We had 2 little ones with us and it was fun for all of us. Rachel educated us in what to look for in the Sistene Chapel to make the experience so much more than just looking up at amazing art work.
Rachael - was in time and was great through out the tour. She stopped us at pivotal points within the Vatican and gave us insights into each of the rooms noteworthy. You will notice the marked difference in quality as you see other tour guides rampaging through the floor and not letting poor souls have time to breathe. Everyone thinks that Sistine chappel is the only noteworthy things but the entire Vatican is a treasure trove. Its corridors, papal rooms have a wealth of decor which will never be produced again in the world. So its worth learning about them rather than just running to Sistine chappel.
The breakfast and early entry isnt really a huge lead. The actual time we entered the vatican corridoors was same as the guards allow entry at the main gate @8AM. So we had a 10 minutes lead. Rest of the time during the breakfast in the garden can be any place in the world and isn't distinctly Vaticanised.
Very well run. Breakfast very nice with no crowd. Guide extremely helpful and pleasant. Highly recommended.
Breakfast was good but the location makes it worth it! Our tour guide, Susana, was fantastic!
