Wonderful tour! This was a unique opportunity to visit a magnificent and surprisingly well-preserved 17th century Roman palace...a real dive into Baroque! Our guide knew everything about the building and about the family (who still owes it!) and made our visit not only very informative, but also enjoyable with her enthusiasm (there are so many stories about the site...). It was nice to visit such a rich and intact collection of art, and the fact that it was open only for us made it all the more exciting. Plus, it was like being on the set of Roman Holiday - some scenes of the film were actually shot in the great hall! A must-see, indeed.

Palazzo Colonna was magnificent! I went to see Palazzo Colonna after reading a New York Times article about "intimate palaces" in Rome. The first time I went - I visited on a Saturday as the museum only opens once a week! This tour is something else though. Maria knew so much and completely opened my eyes to the artistic details of the Baroque style and just simply made the palace come alive. We got to see the private apartments downstairs too! It's was the highlight for me. Again, it was all in the detail. What can I say?! Oo la la room after room after room of breathtaking paintings, furniture, frescoes and sculptures! It's still a private home and I saw photos a table with several Colonna family members meeting and talking with the Pope. Wow! The main gallery with its chandeliers are bellissimo bellissimo! Enough said. I HIGHLY recommend it!

Not worth the money. You can walk in and see at your own pace. We were only allowed to see about 4 rooms of the Palazzo. The guide did not speak good English.
